Some days the boot comes off, and there is a good reason for it.

In ranch bronc riding, safety comes down to the smallest details. You will often see riders wearing boots that are dusted with baby powder, shaped specifically, and sized slightly large.

Why? To prevent getting hung up in the saddle. If a ride goes sideways, or dismounting on the pickup man gets a little hairy that boot is designed to pull free so the rider clears the horse as safely as possible.

Every piece of gear has a purpose .

Rodeo doesn't always go to plan, and the stock got the better of the gals at Georgetown Rodeo with no qualified rides this time around.

Still, we couldn't be prouder of our Northern riders for nodding their heads, leaving nothing on the table, and showing serious grit from chute to dirt. That's the sport. You take the dust, back yourself, and show up ready for the next one.

A massive thank you to the Georgetown Rodeo committee for having WRBC Australia and getting behind women’s roughstock.
