First time w NTS-3 (gear 👇)

Drums and synth from the Polyend into the NTS-3 Kaoss Pad. The MPC 2000XL into mixer with tape delay. Some occasional delay and reverb stabs via mixer sends. Then everything into Behringer 369 + some plugins to add saturation, snap, and heft to a mostly digital sound set.

Orange box 🎁 (gear 👇)

maybe my favorite fuzz pedal I've ever used. I am not a huge guitar guy so I don't care about perfectly matching some fuzz a band used in 1974; I want analog heat in new and interesting forms. This Kernom MOHO does that. The synth is an Arturia Minifreak.

Taping a key down 🔸 (gear 👇)

The beautiful Roland JP8000 into a VCA + tube compressor, then into the behringer clone of the Neve 33609. Since the JP is ultimately a digital synth from an era when fake analog filters were pretty cold, this helps add some saturation and shape.

Tracker thru Tascam #01 (description 👇)

I've been developing a workflow for the Polyend Tracker Mini to add some analog heft. For this iteration, the stems of the Tracker are going into individual channels on the Tascam, and I'm using the sends in real time and recording the results--they go to a MXR analog delay, and a big Fostex spring reverb on a rack. Then the master of the Tascam hits a VCA / tube compressor, and a Neve transformer pair. This way the board eq + drive, analog summing, analog FX, and analog compression can mitigate some of the tracker's digital coldness and add a bit of chaos.

I'll be trying different flavors of this general setup and I think eventually make an entire EP with this concept. taken in Manhattan, New York by @wreck_tech_

From age 15 I always wanted a JP-8000. Instead last month I got the $50 Behringer copy, which is too small but the 12-bit dac sounds interesting when pushing the highs thru an outboard passive tube EQ and then into the (also low bit) DigiTech Time Machine digital delay. Drums are a 707 pushed thru tape.
