Scribe Sayar, aka Joshua Musial is someone I looked to as an inspirational leader and mentor. He was a free thinker, unbound by the temporal realm. He held ideals of justice and freedom and lead a life that encouraged others to realize their own strengths through art, youth mentorship, friendship, and acts of resistance.

I came across his art in 2001 at MindState Distribution in Dinkytown. A friend recommended his album. It was one of those self published joints - a burned CD with the title written in sharpie. I knew nothing of Rune Orpheus/Observatory Swivel except that it was some underground 'ish from San Diego. This album was a bit unorthodox. The lyrical content was deep, other worldly, with complex rhyme patterns over ethereal beats. It immediately became part of my heavy rotation for years. I cherished this as one of those albums that seemed to find me rather than me finding it.

For years internet searches came up with nothing, until about 2018. Then I found that 'Rune Orpheus' had become 'Scribe Sayar.' So I connected with Scribe online and told him of my admiration and respect. Dude was SO COOL, he sent me all his music, t-shirts, promos, stickers, etc. Loaded me tf up! Even gave me a shirt for my daughter (she was rocking it yesterday!) I was stoked that he had continued to make music, and more so that he made such a positive impact on his community as a teacher and activist in and around the Bay/Oakland.

Scribe was attempting a solo spirit run across the US from Cali to NY. He had a circuitous route of nearly 4,000 miles planned in order to connect with friends and community along the way. In light of his passing, many who knew him (and some who didn't) are running in his memory - tallying miles to reach his 4,000 mile goal. As St. Paul was one of his stops, he had sent himself a care package with a fresh pair of kicks to my place. Now that Scribe is no longer with us, and with the approval of a close friend, I have decided to lace up and start my own journey. I created this video in his honor and plan to build community and carry his spirit with me. First few miles were uphill, but the view from the top was unmatched.
PEACE SCRIBE

Book recommendations... Read. Exercise your minds. This in-and-of-itself is a revolutionary act. Each one of these books helps inform us as to the world we are living in, and helps illuminate the "how" and "why". Autocracy doesn't last forever. The sooner we confront it, the safer the fate of the world.

Many of us are either blissfully unaware or willfully ignorant as to the consequences and gravity of our actions this coming Tuesday. And I get it, so many are living on the edge, working long hours, one accident, disease, or a couple of mistakes away from actual poverty with little to no safety nets available. Based on traditional standards of measure, our “economy” is booming. Yet we seem to have increasing homelessness everywhere. The economic divide between the billionaire class and the rest of us is growing exponentially. And they are controlling the narrative. From Twitter to YouTube to the Washington Post, the information space is eroding and being manipulated to control your actions and your vote.
As an average citizen, the complexity of providing for our basic needs often requires multiple revenue streams. So many of us are in debt, surrounded by armed enforcers and fellow citizens who are increasingly nervous of each other. So few of us who clearly understand what could happen here want to say it out loud because the reality is so harrowingly dark that most of us would rather engage in some form of escapism to try to capture some peace of mind. I am guilty myself. But the reality is there will be no peace if we get this wrong on Tuesday. Here is the truth. A vote for Trump is a vote to allow the billionaires free rein to further exploit us and the planet's natural resources and to further insulate themselves from the rest of us. And it will be nearly impossible to wrestle back control. You, average non-billionaire citizen, will be thrown in the fire as kindling. It will be the nail in the coffin. I don’t know any billionaires so if you’re reading this, you will be sacrificed. Your life is meaningless to them. And I’m not talking about the “1%”. I’m literally talking about .000002% of our population. there is no reason that one man. (Elon Musk) should have the equivalent wealth of 110,000,000 Americans.
Historically, people have said that Musk is the world’s richest man, making $383,000,000 each day in 2021, but that is not accurate. (Continued in Comments) by @wreckon1
