That was a joy-filled night, spiced with a bit of fringe festival crazy.

I am deeply inspired, and I have so many thoughts to share about the event, but right now I am tuckered out after a long day of travel, and I just want to share that I am deeply thankful for the entire experience, and I am extra especially thankful for my guest of honour, @joannahuntercom ! ✨🙏✨

Got a book idea? A manuscript in progress? Or simply want to know what happens between having an idea and seeing a book in print?

From Pitch to Print is an interactive publishing panel bringing writers face-to-face with people working within publishing.

Writers will have the opportunity to pitch a book or publishing idea to our panel and receive constructive feedback on the concept, its potential audience and how it might be developed.

For the wider audience, it is a chance to see how publishers assess ideas, what they look for in a pitch and how a project develops from its earliest stages towards publication.

This isn’t a competition. The emphasis is on access, learning, useful feedback and an open exchange between writers and publishers.

Why did I want to be part of the Inverness Fringe?

Because...

After a long time of focusing on the technical aspects of an online business, I wanted to lean back and do a trust fall into flow!

Because...

It brings together everything I've learned through the practice of the creative journey of life with my practice as a poet and a subconscious expert!

But most of all, because...

I LOVE the joy, fun, messiness, freedom, presence, and human connection of in-person creative events!

Green leather jacket: Vinted score! ✨💚✨

I've been putting my focus into my "other" business, Driving Test Confidence , recently.

It has always felt like the sidepiece, the thing that's not really me, but is nevertheless such an important extension of me that it's taken priority over other creative projects.

I'm a poet and creative. I'm also a founder and an entrepreneur.

I've felt so led to create this business, and the challenges I've gone through to make it a reality have led me on a wild journey! 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

But recently, people around a table actually gasped when they heard what I created, and that felt REALLY good to hear!

I've followed my intuition every step of the way, and it feels so right.

Gordon and I both just KNEW we needed this brilliant Jeep, and a huge piece of my Driving Test Confidence self landed.

But something about it just didn't feel fully mine until I found this jacket and drove to the beach and exhaled on the sand.

This is what it is all about: giving people the freedom to drive to people and places they love, sharing how to develop calm confidence outside of the car -

Because the most important thing you can do for your driving test happens outside of the car! ✨💚✨

I know this sounds gooey cliche, but it really is like a warm hug from my vintage green trainer sporting, bright-jacket-wearing, Jeep Liberty-driving younger self. 🥰💚✨

I'm sending a virtual hug out to everyone on my list! I appreciate your likes and follows so deeply!

Over the past season, I have felt the attack against the sacred human process of creativity so deeply.

I went on a deep journey of ecological and cultural grief, grief for this land and culture, as well as grief for books, art, culture, humanity, and the beautiful realm of creativity that is being attacked by the forces of evil aka tech billionaires and energy companies who are cashing in on the current gold rush without a care for the world that is being crushed.

In the Highlands and islands, it feels like we are living through an echo of the highland clearances, and it is not fun.

But while I've been grieving because I am an empath and I give myself the space to feel the feels, I don't believe for a moment that this projected demolition will happen.

There is HOPE.

Every time we make a bold, human, creative act, there is HOPE.

Every time we come together and use our voices, there is HOPE.

And so, what can I do to play my part?

I can take a bold, creative act that celebrates the sacred human act of creativity.

After I unsuccessfully tried soap, my hero-hubby came home and BENT the pole to release her…

Ruby is back to her happy puppy ways, and I’m even more excited for a calm and rejuvenating writing session this afternoon! 😂😂
