Every book you love fits on this model 📚

And they're proportioned by Mind, Body, and Soul.

Soul is the child-like creator in all of us 🎨. Legends and Lattes or LOTR are prime examples.

Mind is what makes us think, learn, and grow 🧠. These are your philosophies and classics.

Body is how we feel, whether it be fear, fun, or spice 🌶.

Every book has a dash of each, but tend to dominate two of the three.

The Body/Soul books are your romantacies such as ACOTAR, or power driven fantasy like Red Rising 🐉

The Soul/Mind books are the historical fantasies like Bernard Cornwell, urban fantasy, and your steam/cyberpunk ⚔️

Mind/Body are your true crime books and thrillers. Crime and Punishment being an excellent example of both 🔪

Save this to pick your next mood read 📖

If you're a writer, feel free to save this model to map out your WIP and its comps 🔖

Do you agree with these placements? Where would you put your current read?

Here is the real me, from behind the screen 🤝

It feels as though i have only just set this account up

But now there's 400 of you following me and so many people I'd now consider a good friend 🫶

Honestly, I wanted to post about my book for months, but I never let myself

I feared how I'd be perceived, whether it was pointless, or if I was being over the top trying to promote a half-written novel

Taking the plunge is one of the best things i ever did

My writing output has increased, my inspiration increased ✍️

Strangely, I even feel more confident and more myself in my day to day life than I ever have before

If you are someone who is writing a novel and want to start posting but something is holding you back...

Just do it. Its the best thing I ever did, and I haven't looked back

And i think i speak for many of us in the community

Am I on track? 🚆

A little under the target this week, but taking the total since the challenge started im over 💪

There will always be some lower weeks, so I've been doubling down when I know I have the time.

Really excited to see where the story is going now.

Act II is complete, and the prophecy and plot is coming together nicely

I have also half-created an ancient language. The basics are talked about in the novel, but i haven't fully fleshed it out

Will be a big job so could be for book two to get a full understandable language 🤔

I have been thinking about act III and the final battle for most part of a year now.

This is getting exciting 🙌

How are my fellow writers getting on

HUGE group word count 💪

Everyone is making serious progress to completing their WIP draft 1

Some of us already meeting the target, and on to the next one !

This group keeps me accounted and motivated in my writing ✍️

But it's not all writing and numbers.

We've shared tips for social media and post prompts. We also have some collab posts planned, so watch out for those 👀

There's also been some very enlightening chats, and some very deep chats. Its great sharing not only our writing journeys but also our personal lives.

I honestly dont know what I'd do without this bunch 🫶

Go check out their pages. Some awesome stories in the works!

Another book added to the banned books TBR 📚

Sally Rooney's publisher Faber has taken the decision to no longer sell Sally's books in the UK

But this decision is entirely a legal one 👨‍⚖️

Sally Roony has openly stated that proceeds from her novel sales would fund an organisation currently restricted under British law

To avoid breaking regulations, and prevent facing potentially a larger legal problem, Sally and her publisher have decided to to stop all UK sales

Remaining completely neutral, i will say that here are still books authors who have taken their own stance in other corners of political discourse which haven't had their work limited 🤷‍♂️

This isn't to say we should cancel all authors with certain political views 🙅‍♂️

Rather, we should welcome free speech from all sides

If you don't like a certain author or their views, then don't buy from them

This should be the limit of cancel culture

There are some books still left in stores, so grab them whilst you still can 🏃‍♂️

200 posts. 900 followers. and 55 accounts that make this little corner of the internet so much better. 🥹💖

in no particular order, because this is an appreciation post, not a ranking 💀

thank you for the friendships, the laughs, the endless book recommendations, the yapping, and for making this community such a wonderful place to be.

and if I missed anyone, please know it wasn't intentional. there are so many wonderful people here and I appreciate you all. 🫶

(also, if you're tagged in the comments instead of the post, it's because instagram only let me tag 20 people 😭)

Do you agree with your favourite fantasy's placement? 📚

There was plenty of opinion on the last post on book placements

So I've remade it, this time focussing on fantasy only ⚔️

And included some top indie authors you must check out 🫵

SAVE this for your next fantasy mood pick 🔖

Placements are made relative to the fantasy genre only. Some liberties have been taken for legibility.

Stay tuned to see the same model redone for the Sci-Fi, Horror, and Classics genres 👀

@writersebchadwick challenged me to call my younger self... and honestly, it got me a little emotional 😅

Little me had questions. Big me had answers.

If you could call your younger self right now, what would you tell them? 👇

And that book? It’s Eternity’s Gate

What book buying ban?

So stoked for this series. I will get round to it with my ever growing tbr.

This medieval Norse inspired grimdark fantasy is everything I know I'll love 🪓

You should get it too if you want prophecy, gods, and war ⚔️

Support your local indie author 🫵

And your non-local, global, anywhere in the world indie authors 🌏

I cannot wait to get stuck into this one 📖

The book is really high quality and the whole design, including cover, map, and bookmarks, are so sick.

Thank you @j.c.wines_author for sending this over, I really do appreciate it 🙏

👆 Check him out 👆
