Everyone is posting their Gloria Steinem photos today in honor of our American feminist queen who changed the world for women. I met Gloria three times - literally the day I submitted my manuscript for “Fearless and Free: How Smart Women Pivot and Relaunch their Careers.” ( She loved the title) Then again a few days after my book launch 8 months later and then when I was co-directing my first indie film “SURGE” about women running for Congress in 2018. We all stand on the shoulders of this beautiful, fearless icon. I feel honored to have shared the same air as Gloria on a few occasions and I am forever grateful for her courage, conviction and her life’s work to make this country a safer and more equitable place for women. by @wsachs

Meet Adrian my Gett taxi driver driving me from Tel Aviv to Jaffa to film an interview tonight. As soon as I’m in the car he looks into his rear view mirror and says, “I know you!” And I say, “you do?” And he says “you’re a film director and you made a movie about October 7th. I drove you about three months ago. It’s so important what you’re doing.” I’m blown away. Only in Israel. 🎬🙏💙 taken in Old Jaffa, Tel Aviv by @wsachs

We just wrapped another powerful week of filming with the extraordinary @emilydamari @romigonen @arbelyehoud @arielito122 who were held captive in Gaza by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. We’ve filmed dozens of hours with the former hostages and their stories continue to haunt, enrage and inspire us. Our hearts are breaking and I can’t stop crying writing this sad post. Our beautiful lab Milo died suddenly in a pool accident two days ago. Milo lived a healthy life trekking and swimming and looking much younger than his nearly 14 years. My kids literally grew up with Milo and my nieces and nephew learned to not fear dogs because of Milo. When Jonah’s puppy Leo entered the scene, Milo was initially very jealous but then he and Leo became best friends and Leo made Milo walk faster and play harder. RIP sweet Milo, our forever puppy. May you dream of fetching sticks and swimming in lakes and oceans and getting all of the treats Silvia would feed you. Aside from the endless shedding, you were perfect. I finally went to Wimbledon! This has been a dream since I was 8 years old and just a big time bucket list experience forever. Huge props to my bestie college roommate Barb who planned it all to celebrate our birthdays. The best hack and total flex was tonight at Centre court, row 10 center seats for $20 for the mixed doubles finals - which was an incredible match. We were also at Court 1 for semi finals men’s doubles and side courts all day long. And insane strawberries (and insanely cheap!) apparently picked specifically for the championships. They also don’t price gouge food at Wimbledon like they do at the US Open and I don’t know why but it was pretty amazing. So I bought more swag than I know what to do with - notice my two hats in alternating photos. Sick seats, brutal heat and the best 12-hour tennis day ever. And I briefly met Coco Gauff after her tough match. So fun! 🎾🎾❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧 #wimbledon #championships taken in Wimbledon by @wsachs

The past four days of filming with @nimroderez23 the stories of hostages kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, who survived between 433 days to more than two years in captivity, has been one of the most extraordinary and surreal weeks of my life. The experiences of @evyatar__david @romigonen @emilydamari @guygilboadalal hostages are so powerful they truly took our breath away. Since October 7, 2023, documenting these important and iconic stories has become my life’s work and this new film may be the most historically significant and emotional one yet. Their stunning stories of survival, starvation and trauma mixed with dark humor, resilience and faith cuts across politics, religion and nationalities. We’re honored that these incredible young people are trusting us with their deeply personal stories that need to be recorded as testimony for the world to know what happened. Huge thank you to our incredible team in Israel. It’s been a wild, powerful 8 days of filming in LA-NY-DC-Montreal and back to DC. We interviewed smart, astute experts like @donnyjdeutsch and the New Jersey congressman @repjoshg. @nimroderez23 and I filmed the emotional memorial for Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky and then attended the McGill University graduation because one of our extraordinary and brave characters @raihaana.adira was graduating. And then I met rockstar @nogaerez at a Tribeca Salon event. Big thank you to @limorgott and @lauriemay18 and love to @renaronson - let’s make magic happen together! 🎬 by @wsachs

This beautiful couple @arbelyehoud and @arielito122 were kidnapped from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, by terrorists. They were taken together and separated within hours. Arbel spent 482 days in captivity - held by Islamic Jihad. Arbel, kept in solitary, was the last living female Israeli hostage released and Ariel was held alone for 738 days and also among the last living hostages to be released. Stunningly, so many don’t know these stories and worse many deny they even happened. The Arbel and Ariel love story is one of resilience, strength and hope. @nimroderez23 @emilycohenschwartz and I are honored and humbled to bring these extraordinary stories to the screen and to share with the world. 🎗️🇮🇱🎬 #bringthemhomenow taken in Nir `Oz, Hadarom, Israel by @wsachs

Twelve weeks after the October 7th attacks, I filmed in Kibbutz K’far Aza that lay in ruins after terrorists burned homes, murdered children, parents and grandparents and kidnapped 251 people into Gaza. A little more than two years later we’re back filming a followup documentary about the hostages including the inimitable @emilydamari who spent 471 horrific days in captivity - in the tunnels, cages and apartments in Gaza. Emily has become a hero to so many and a magnificent symbol of resilience, courage and strength. Her fiercely optimistic spirit and contagious smile is beyond remarkable. @nimroderez23 and I also filmed with Emily’s incredible mom Mandy who blew us away with her capacity to stay stoic and fight to the moon and back for her daughter. Filming with our brilliantly talented Israeli DP @tom_gat once again is the greatest gift. And a huge thank you to @emilycohenschwartz our producer and the dedicated advocate and family liaison to the Damaris. 🇮🇱🤟💪💙 taken in Israel by @wsachs
