There’s a lot of Canadian content at WAFCON this summer. Don’t sleep on one of the best continental tournaments in women’s Footy.

Cameroon 🇨🇲
Experienced defender Easther Mayi Kith (1997, Urawa Red Diamonds) takes on Mali tomorrow afternoon.

Egypt 🇪🇬
Christina Salama (2006, West Virgnia University) started the match vs Zambia at Left Back this morning.
Leia Khairy (Mont-Royal Outremont, 2004) was subbed on in the 32nd minute.
Camelia El Hofy (2007, Wydad FC) and Sienna Church (2007, UTRGV) were unused subs.

Burkina Faso 🇧🇫
Eden Soulier (2004, CS Saint Laurent) played a half vs Cote D’Ivoire yesterday.

Mali 🇲🇱
Forward Jasmin Diop (2005, CS Longueil) is hoping for her first WAFCON appearance tomorrow vs Cameroon

NSL Content ✨
Three Northern Super League stars will compete for the title in coming weeks.

Nigeria 🇳🇬
Nigeria’s Esther Okoronkwo (1997, Toronto) kicks off this afternoon vs Malawi and will hope to re-create last year’s success on a team and individual level.

Ghana 🇬🇭
Evelyn Badu (2002, Montreal Roses) has rounded into form beautifully after missing the first part of the season with Visa issues.
Toronto’s young midfielder Linda Owusu Ansah (2006) has her sights set a successful first senior WAFCON experience.

Canadians can watch on BeinSports or by using a VPN to access BBC/Channel 4 in the UK. 📺

📥 Canada Soccer launches Inaugural W Canadian Championship

Fans have been waiting for the women’s equivalent of the Voyageurs Cup. Fantastic to see progress in this.

Two amateur teams competing will be @roversfc_opl and @csmroplsq, last year’s League1 inter-provincial Championship finalists.

Semi-finals and Final will be played in 2027. Based on the @concacafw Champions Cup format released in May, the Canadian Champion will play in the preliminary stage of the 2027 Continental tournament in July.

The prelims will be a 2-leg match vs a team from either 🇨🇷🇸🇻🇯🇲🇵🇦

Finally!! by @nlights_sg
