Huge thanks to @wstrpp for sharing the process on his YouTube channel of projecting digital to film via @cinelabboston

I recently had the perfect project for my maiden voyage into this world and not only were my expectations exceeded, but the client loves the final result as well (over the digital).

As someone who has wanted to shoot motion picture film for sometime now, this feels like a more practical middle ground that can always become an option.

Check out @wstrpp YouTube video titled, “Turning your digital slime into film”

It’s going to be hard not to want to process everything this way moving forward.

EP. 82 W/ Filmmaker @wstrpp // Full Episode Available On All Platforms
•
In this episode, Blaine Westropp reflects on the slow, earned process of finding your style as a filmmaker and the confidence that only comes through time, failure, and self-critique. He shares pivotal on-set struggles that shaped his growth, the tension between ownership and collaboration as a DP, and the importance of culture, energy, and “vibe time” on set. Blaine dives into risk—both financial and creative—and how saying “yes” more often changed his trajectory. He speaks candidly about YouTube as a creative logbook rather than an algorithm game, the discipline required to survive the highs and lows of freelance life, and why stepping away from the camera can sharpen your voice. Ultimately, his definition of success isn’t fame or money, but an inner calm—a grounded confidence in the direction he’s walking and the life he’s building beyond just the frame. by @wstrpp

This was a teenage dream project for me. Filming a mini doc about a pro rollerblade brought me straight back to summer days with my friends rollerblading and filming skate videos.

Thank you so much @insta360 for making it happen and for providing a tool like the X5 that got me angles I could only have dreamed of.

The whole crew was incredible @austin_paz @wstrpp @tylerrichardwells @coltkirwan @the_reporter_q2 🙏🏻 by @wstrpp
