Can you imagine a stage production without any props? Neither can we. 🎭 As part of a City as Our Campus experience, Eighth Grade students in Dr. Dangerfield’s Performing Arts class recently welcomed guest visitor Ms. Bridgette Dona, props master at the University of Pittsburgh, for a behind-the-scenes look at the technical side of theater.

Following a recent visit by a lighting designer, this was the second in a series that teaches Middle School students how technical elements, such as props and lighting, help bring productions to life. by @wt_news

Third Grade stepped back in time during a City as Our Campus visit to @historycenter’s Meadowcroft Rockshelter! 🏹 Students explored the rich history and traditions of Indigenous peoples of the Eastern Woodlands while learning about archaeology, geology, and the significance of this National Historic Landmark.

Hands-on highlights included trying Indigenous tools like the atlatl (a spear thrower!) and participating in a scavenger hunt created by our very own Mx. Perkins to discover how native plants and trees have been used by Indigenous peoples. 🌿 Students also learned about the Miller Point, an artifact discovered at the rockshelter that helped establish evidence of human habitation in North America more than 11,500 years ago! by @wt_news

There is no cost to attend this event. Significant others, guests, and friends are welcome additions. RSVP at the link in bio! by @wt_news

Molloy Posner Hall was buzzing with Pumpkin Fair festivities this week! 🎃 Our Second Grade students put their math skills to work and gained some hands-on experience with money concepts they've been learning in class.

And the competition to guess the weight of our annual Mystery Pumpkin got a little grizzly this year! 🐻 Instead of a single pumpkin, we had a Mystery Pumpkin Bear! Congratulations to second grader Gino, whose guess of 58 pounds came closest to the actual weight of 59.3 pounds! by @wt_news

Storytime with Dr. Fech! 📚 This fall, our Head of School is making his way through the Lower School and popping into classrooms from Junior Pre-K through Fifth Grade to read a book with students! 💜 These special reading visits are a fun way for students to connect with Dr. Fech and share in the joy of reading together. by @wt_news

As part of our City as Our Campus program, Upper School students in Dr. Gough’s Power & Protest class recently visited the @historycenter for an Archive Encounter.

The History Center’s staff gave students insight into how archives are constructed before sharing a collection of 19th-century records related to slavery and abolition in Western Pennsylvania.

Through primary sources, including abolitionist newspapers and documents from the Western Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society, students explored how power has been exercised, challenged, and ultimately documented throughout history. Thanks for having us, Heinz History Center! by @wt_news

What a weekend for our WT *Snap*Dragons and Lion Dance Team! 🐉🚣 At the 2026 Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Festival, the WT *Snap*Dragons shattered their previous records, racing in under a minute! With some tough competition against college teams, *Snap*Dragons earned silver overall, beating the Johns Hopkins University Dragon Boat Team. We’re so proud of our hard-working students!

Meanwhile, our Lion Dance Team brought energy and cultural tradition to the festival with another fantastic performance. 💜 A huge thank-you to WT Mandarin teacher Ms. Shaloma Smith for her dedication to these student teams and for making this experience possible. by @wt_news
