My mother passed away on April 16, 2021. I got married on November 15, 2025. After attending so many weddings over the years, I already knew the order of the ceremony before I ever had one of my own. What I never imagined was having to figure out the mother/son dance without my mother being here.

But God, in His infinite wisdom and knowing the plan for my life, already knew she would miss this moment. So He gave me an older sister to stand beside me when my mother couldn’t. 🤍

Congratulations to my little cousin Tippa @wtipperthomas who married his beautiful bride Shiron @shiaintshy this past wknd. I’m so proud of him. I remember us as little kids during the summer at our Grandmother’s House in Mount Vernon (Who we called Grandma Thomas) and playing in the yard and going to Trinity Baptist Church Day Camp together, to now seeing him take this giant leap in his life.

Ii have seen Tippa persevere through tragedy and turn it into triumph and use his oratory skills that he inherited from Uncle Tommy (he looks so much like him too by the way. I think it all the time but just don’t always say it to him) but he is really an amazing man.

One piece of advice I will give to this beautiful couple, don’t let anyone, no matter who they are, come in between your marriage. You are each other’s first priority, everybody else are guests in your world. Don’t forget that. Many blessings to you both 🙏🏾 by @wtipperthomas

About a week ago, she thought she was going to a concert to sing along to someone else’s love songs…Only to end up living her own.
