@nitsrajkumar is in a wistful mood on her new song 'Oh My Dear' and if you are too, you'll have a great time!

Nikita Rajkumar makes singer-songwriter music out of Chennai; she has all the right tools in that genre toolbox, it seems like. her singing voice is clean and crystal clear, and her writing style is simple and expressive. What more would you want? 'Oh My Dear', is a sort of sad take on a relationship going long-distance and the almost existential uncertainty that comes along with such an event. It's a sweet enough premise and the song couches that fear and sorrow in a pretty sweet and old-school acoustic indie progression. Lots to love here!

Mumbai songwriter Raghav @raag_hub approaches the emotional side of modern progressive music (in some way or the other) on 'Octaving Bounds'

A lot of care has gone into this here track; a sort of homage and development of modern rock and the more melodic side of progressive rock. The clean guitars and thickly layered vocals are staples of the genre, and to be fair, so is the vocal sample featuring snippets of... phone calls (This is a communicative device many artists have used before and will continue to use, so its presence here actually means something)? There's a lovely string section that props up the last third of the song, and while drums veer into post-rock territory a bit. There's a lot to love here and the production is awesome to boot!

Kerala musician Adarsh Arjun does some interesting things with genre on his single 'Torpid'.

Judging by all the little influences from different musical places on the deeply interesting new song from @adarsharjun, 'Torpid', it's pretty clear that he enjoys playing around and isn't scared of taking some pretty cool risks. This tune packs all sorts of things into less than minutes; there's some mathy material, some prog metal in the production, a few Indian classical flourishes on his guitar playing, and that's just the surface. The song takes a short but totally unexpected trip into... dubstep, off all things before coming back to a standard, jazzier math-metal vibe. Yes, all of this actually happens! It's a bit of whirlwind and feels like you're being thrown into a musical washing machine, but at the end of the day, it's a rather rewarding experience.

Death metal band Solus Ex Inferis drops their pounding new EP 'Exogenesis'

@solus.ex.inferis is a band that spans across countries, featuring musicians from bands like Six Feet Under, Decrepit Birth and so on. It also has Sahil Makhija (who's @demonstealer if you weren't hip) on vocals. This EP is called 'Exogenesis' and featuring five pretty brutal tracks. The production also does a great job of bashing your skull in (in a good way, of course), with the requisite big drums, guitars and Sahil's by now well-documented distorted vocals. All the tunes on this thing are basically bangers, with songs like the closer 'Critical Failure' taking the machine-gun precision of the drums and putting it to great use. This is one for the headbangers, so if you number yourself as one, go ahead and play it. Loud.

@rozuboy brings a bunch of collaborators on board for his fresh new single.

Shourya Malhotra is an artist from Delhi; his new single called 'In Denial' is with Varun Rajput from @antariksh_official and features some great work from @roradoll and @ishitasingh.in. All right, so that's who made this song - but what is it? Well, it's a tender little acoustic ballad with some really solid writing, good performances and some pretty subtle vocal layering. It's subtle not in its construction (the harmonies are right up at the front of the mix and all that) but in its usage; the musicians have gone for a seamless presentation (where everything sounds like it's one voice). There's a lot to love here and a lot of replay value, and not much gets better than that, does it?

Surat artist Shehzan Mehta drops a cool-as-ice rock song, 'Fragile Faces'.

@Schezwahan (nice handle) is a young artist that has something to say. 'Fragile Faces' puts social commentary into a rock ballad. While those two things don't sound like they mesh, they sure do. There are some decidedly rock-y riffs (some would say with the exuberance of youth) and a lovely ol' change in the hook. In today's day when everyone is making music that takes the hot genre of the day, it's interesting to see a rock song that goes this route. Either way, it's a great tune to blast in a dim bar while you're having a couple beers and having deep discussions about the state of the world today and why the 2000s were the best decade. Cheers!

Sunneith Revankar has put out one of the strongest EPs of this year so far, 'Hymns For The Drunk'.

We all know @sunneith from his exploits in Indian indie metal, singing in Bhayanak Maut and Undying Inc. and all that. However, this EP is him solo, and it's a melancholic, stunning bit of indie music. With some guitars and subtle ambient production, Sunneith tells wonderfully written stories (and sings them brilliantly too). While the EP is bookended by some lovely spoken storytelling, songs like 'Roju' and 'Football Season Is Over' brim with sorrow and pure beauty. It's a joke to think that this EP has less than fifteen minutes of music, but one peek into its world draws you in; it feels like an hour. This is a must-listen.

Live rock's glory days once more with the new song from Skreen 6, 'Watch Me Die'.

If you're young, the music this young Kochi band @skreen_6 is making might sound alien. To those who grew up in college music scenes the last decade, however, 'Watch Me Die' is quite familiar. The band has clearly been raised on 80s hair metal and rock, and that's a bvibe that some might argue has been sorely missed of late. This track here has got it all as far as that is concerned - high-pitched vocals, cool solos and an overall rollicking vibe. This was a time when maximalism was in. We celebrated excess and lots of everything; this song fulfills all that and is a fresh look into what made rock's best days click (it was a lot of fun and some innocence, by the way).

Have a quiet evening with 'Wherever I Go I'd Like To Be All I Need' from Tanmaya Bhatnagar.

@tanmayab is the latest big thing on the indie scene, it seems like... you probably can't find many playlists without her music on them. This song is perfect for modern pop fans; it's melancholy and quietly beautiful. She's great at making this kind of stuff already as it is; 'Wherever I Go I'd Like To Be All I Need'is firing on all the correct cylinders. There's a lot for you to enjoy if you're reflecting on some sort of emotional life event or memory. Warm electric guitars, her shy vocal style and a proper indie-rock shift to acoustic guitar and boxy drums - this song is the best accompaniment to those moments you have just before you go to sleep and start the next day.

Demonic Resurrection is back with a new single!

It's been 5 years since @demonicresurrection put out a new single, and here it is. It's called 'The Eye Of Eternity' and it brings back some memories. It's obviously a strongly written and produced metal song, and it has some symphonic touches (and some excellent playing); of course, needless to say, it's a banger. What is more impressive about this song is that it sounds new (in context of what's coming out these days) and nostalgic at the same time. So if you're older, enjoy this reminder of how cool metal and the scene were 'back in the day'. If you're young, well, this is a good reminder that music like this still exists. Win-win.
