Peace by Piece 002 : 視而不見 : To Look, Yet Not Assume

Right now, we all live in an overstimulated world. On average, your brain is bombarded with 5000 to 10000 advertisements and logos every single day. Every notification, billboard, and screen is actively fighting to hijack your attention and pull you out of the present moment.

When we are constantly flooded like this, our central nervous system stays trapped in a state of chronic high alert. That is why having a dedicated grounding activity is no longer optional. It is a biological necessity.

This specific practice is something I have fostered since the sixth grade. It is my personal space to slow down, access who I am, and completely drop the need to over-correct or seek perfection.

Furthermore , traditional wisdom speaks of 視而不見, which means the ability to look at the noise around you but choose not to let it penetrate your internal space.

True grounding is the ultimate act of rebellion against an overstimulated world. It is about stepping away from the urge to perform and choosing to just exist within the process. You do not need to build a flawless life all at once. You just need to protect your presence, peace by piece.

How are you filtering out the noise to find your center today?

Humbly,
g.Will

Peace by Piece Entry 001 ｜剛柔並濟

Translation: The seamless integration of power and grace; being fully prepared for conflict while choosing the beauty of the dance.

I am 林悟空. My work exists at the intersection of the blade and the breath. In the journey of C-PTSD recovery, we often swing between hypervigilance and total shutdown. Through the lens of DBT and REBT, we seek the “Middle Path”: the dialectic of being both a warrior and a healer.

This balisong is a physical metaphor for a regulated nervous system. To master the tool is to master the rotation between safety and utility. We use REBT to challenge the irrational belief that we are perpetually under threat, and DBT to expand our window of tolerance.

Like this blade, a healthy mind remains contained until it is truly needed. We do not suppress our strength; we regulate it. I flip to master the edge and I dance to celebrate the flow. To be truly peaceful, one must be capable of protection. I carry this readiness so that my inner world can finally remain a sanctuary.
What Can No Longer Ebb, Does Flow.
