❕️ACHTUNG TERMINÄNDERUNG!❕️

Aufgrund der Terminkollision mit der @brut_wien Eröffnungsfeier am 16. Oktober haben wir gemeinsam mit dem Team von @lisa_hinterreithner entschieden, die erste Vorstellung von many in a bed auf Donnerstag, 15.10. um 19:30 Uhr vorzuverlegen.

Bereits gekaufte Tickets können via Mail an performingarts@wuk.at storniert oder umgebucht werden.

Due to a scheduling conflict with the @brut_wien opening celebration on October 16, we have decided together with the team of @lisa_hinterreithner to bring forward the first performance of many in a bed to Thursday, October 15 at 7:30 pm.

Tickets that have already been purchased can be cancelled or rescheduled by email at performingarts@wuk.at.

Mit DOUBLE TROUBLE laden @godsentertainment_wien dazu ein, einer Vielzahl widersprüchlicher Ichs und Perspektiven in Endlosschleife zu begegnen. Die Performance verweigert sich der linearen Darstellung und wird stattdessen zur Manifestation einer fragilen Route des Blicks. Was sehen wir – und was entgeht uns, während wir sehen? Die Kunst des Doppelten lässt uns beobachten, wie wir selbst beobachten.

In der Performance many in a bed der österreichischen Choreografin @lisa_hinterreithner geht es um die lustvolle Begegnung mit Pflanzen und Erde, um spielerische Intimität. Allerdings nicht auf das Zwischenmenschliche beschränkt. In many in a bed begegnet das Publikum Formen von artenübergreifenden Affären irgendwo zwischen Blütezeit und Verwesung. Wie so oft in Hinterreithners Arbeiten ist es eine spielerische Neugierde, die sie und die Performer*innen @magphorster, @theo_emil und Carla Rihl antreibt.

Ntando Cele was born in South Africa and is based in Bern, Switserland. She studied acting in Durban and also attended DasArts in Amsterdam. Her work overturns the borders between
Physical Theatre, video installation, concert and performance. She combines music, text and video to recreate her own identity on the stage.

Fariba Mosleh is a Vienna-based curator, cultural manager and anthropologist. Her curatorial practice focuses on transcultural, participatory and anti-discriminatory approaches to art and cultural work. She has worked on and developed projects in international contexts and is a curator at Brunnenpassage as well as director of studioOne.

This Thursday, my guest on Ženergija is Dshamilja Gosteli (they/she) — an educational scientist with a focus on educational psychology, former teacher, educator, facilitator, researcher and artist.

Working between Vienna, Switzerland, Bielefeld and Berlin, Dshamilja is also a curator of social spaces, lecturer and coordinator, and a first-generation, self-funded PhD candidate at the Department of Education at the University of Vienna.

In their artistic practice, Dshamilja brings together olfactory spaces, empowering experiences, education, dance, museum spaces, audiovisual art and performance with glittery celebrations of all bodies.

By deconstructing heteronormativity, racism, anti-fat bias and ableism, they create queer resistance for Black joy and fat liberation in Europe.

On Ženergija, we’ll talk about education, racism and trauma, Black queer perspectives, bodies, fat liberation, accessibility, resistance — and JOY.

And, of course, about ThiccPhatUTOPIAS – La résistance!, curated by Dshamilja and coming to WUK on September 26. @wukperformingarts

Because sometimes taking up space, dancing, celebrating and feeling joy are political acts too.

মm. (ausgesprochen: „mwo“) ist DJ, Kurator und Community-Organisator mit Sitz in Dhaka und Wien. They spielt mit Percussion, Rhythmen, Bass und Dramatik, um Erfahrungen von Zeit und Energien herauszuarbeiten. They arbeitet vorwiegend mit Genres, Stilen und Rhythmen des globalen Südens und des Black Atlantic, um Sonologien kollaborativer Musikgeschichten über die größeren Regionen hinweg und deren Diasporas in Metropolen anderswo zu inszenieren. They kuratiert und mixt entlang von Klangbewegungen, diasporischen Kooperationen und Hybridität, verbunden mit Nostalgie, kollektiven Erinnerungen und verkörperten Kulturen von Musik und Tanz.
