Journey Entry 1:
Things that keep me up at night.

For most of my life, I’ve struggled with sleeping properly, and it’s something I continue to work through even at the age of thirty-four.

As a curious person, I tend to get my best ideas right as I’m about to fall asleep, triggering a jolt of panic, anxiety, and urgency that wakes me up again.

Since taking a few spiritual classes and online meditation workshops, I’ve identified six feelings that explain why my brain and body often don’t align when I want them to.

WORK
Am I doing enough? Do my coworkers like me? Have I saved enough money?

FEAR
Why am I scared? Do I lack confidence? What if things don’t work out as I hoped?

IDEAS
Are my creative thoughts good? Should I pursue them? Is the venture worth it?

GOALS
What should I prioritize? Which desires mean the most to me? Can I achieve them?

TIME
Do I still have enough? Is it too late to start something new? How long will it take?

LOVE
Are my friends and family doing well? Do they know how I feel? Do they even care?

You might think I’m going a little crazy asking myself so many questions, but these happen to be some of the most common conversations people have with themselves before falling asleep.

Maybe you can relate.

This isn’t something I usually post, but I wanted to try making a visual journal to cover some personal topics that cross my mind. If it resonates with you, I might do it again :)

After a four day adventure in Taipei, I ventured south to Kaohsiung ~ a lively port city known for its coastal charm and artistic spirit 🎨

As a creative, I was eager to explore, observe, and document each neighborhood, as they all provided a unique experience to take away from 🙆

I’ve always wanted to visit Pompeii ~ it’s incredible to see how this ancient city continues to draw so many tourists. There’s actually a modern town next to it called Pompei, which shares a similar name 🥹
