Welcome Makenzie Navarro from San Jose, Ca!!

Mak chose West Valley because the girls and coaches are so welcoming and encouraging. The environment makes you want to be your best while pushing your teammates to be their best, and that’s all she’s ever looked for in a program.

Mak is most excited for the sisterhood she’s about to join. From what she has already experienced and heard, this group of girls is hardworking and incredibly talented, and she’s so excited to be a part of that legacy.

Welcome Emily Hughes from Pleasanton, Ca!!

Emily chose West Valley because of how strong our program is and how we prioritize growth and development. She felt a strong competitive energy from the team along with a welcoming culture. An environment Emily knows will prepare her for the next level of her softball career!! She is looking forward to competing everyday and improving in all areas of the game. Welcome Amber Hillman from Fremont, Ca!!

Amber chose West Valley for the equally great academics and athletics, and to play for Coach Piatt!! She is looking forward to playing a higher level of softball! Amber is ready to meet her new teammates, make new connections, all while playing softball at the next level under a talented coach!

Amber is the youngest sister of WVC Softball alumni, Sierra and Hannah Hillman, she has many years of watching WVC Softball under her belt already and we are pumped to see her make a big impact!!

Welcome Ava Delagrande from San Jose, Ca!

Ava chose West Valley because it allows her to continue her education while pursuing her goals as an athlete, competing at the collegiate level. She is excited to compete and build more memories with former teammates. Today we are honoring our final sophomore Raylene Cruz from Morgan Hill, Ca!!

Raylene has been a true leader for our program over the past two years. She came to us with a strong connection to our program as the younger sister of Viking Softball alum Reyna Cruz, and she quickly embraced our values, work ethic, and traditions.

She leads by example as both a vocal presence and a tireless work ethic, always willing to put in the extra effort to elevate herself and those around her. Raylene has excelled throughout her time here, she has compiled an impressive 88 career hits and 18 doubles. Earning herself the Female Student Athlete of the Year for West Valley College Athletics, All-Northern Team honors and 1st Team Coast Conference in 2026!!

Raylene is the kind of athlete every program hopes to have for more than two years. She plans to continue her athletic career at the next level, with Simpson University on scholarship! We are incredibly proud of the young woman she has become and all that she has accomplished both on and off the field.
