Connecting visitors to organic WWOOF farms in over 130 countries & building a global community conscious of ecological farming practices 🌍 since 1971

POSTS STORIES REELS

👋🏼 New to WWOOF? Allow us to (re)introduce ourselves 🍂🍁🫶🏼

🌱 WWOOF is a worldwide movement to link visitors (WWOOFers) with organic farmers, promote cultural and educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming and sustainability practices. WWOOF started 50 years ago and has grown from a small group in the 1970s to a worldwide community of hundreds of thousands of people today!

👩🏽‍🌾 As a WWOOFer, you will participate in the daily life of your host, help on the farm, learn about sustainability, potentially experience a new culture or connect with your local community, meet new people, and receive free room and board during your stay.

🧑🏽‍🌾 As a host, you will open your home to receive visitors who want to connect with organic food, farming and support the sustainability movement.

🌎 WWOOF is organized nationally so to join, select the country on WWOOF.net that you are interested in and get growing. Questions? Add them in the comments 🌿

WWOOF is looking for videographers! 🎥🌱

Comment “CREATOR” and we’ll DM you everything you need to enter.

We’re inviting WWOOFers and hosts, wherever you are in the world, to help capture the story, spirit, and depth of “What is WWOOF?” as part of our first flagship YouTube video. If you’ve been involved in the WWOOF community and want to help show the world what WWOOF is all about, we want to hear from you.

Using a few simple interview questions we provide, sit down with your host or fellow WWOOFers (or with yourself, if you’re comfortable narrating your own experience) and capture honest, unscripted answers, along with a bit of footage from daily life on the farm. Interviews can be in any language.

We’ll select the strongest submissions to be professionally edited together into a single flagship explainer video for WWOOF’s YouTube channel.

🧀👑 The top 5 selected submissions receive $100 (or the equivalent in local currency) and are featured in the video, credited as contributors.
🌿 All submissions that meet our filming criteria receive a complimentary WWOOF membership renewal for a country of their choice.

Deadline: 8:00 PM PT, Wednesday, December 23, 2026 by @wwoof

A little glimpse into @wwoofusa attending the US’s oldest, largest, and only organic ag fair - welcome to the Common Ground Country Fair! 🐴🥕👩🏽‍🌾🌽🍎🐔🌾

This fair is hosted by @mofga, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association, and for three days, they bring together farmers, homesteaders, craftspeople, families, and people passionate about building sustainable and connected communities.

There was so much to discover at the fair, there was over 700+ events! All sort of lectures, talks, demonstrations, workshops… Many of them focused on unique topics related to sustainable and intentional living - things like sheep dog demos, humanure and peecycling recycling, traditional folk work songs and dancing, talks about seed saving, edible landscaping, and that’s just to name a few!

We were so excited to be there representing WWOOF and connecting with farmers, WWOOFers, hosts, homesteaders, and people just interested in learning more about rural living and sustainable agriculture.

Our big takeaway was that this fair is such a wonderful place for a group of intentional people to come together, share skills, exchange knowledge, and connect with one another.

And that’s really what WWOOF is all about, too - creating opportunities for people to learn through hands-on experiences, living and learning alongside host farmers to help support them and, at the same time, preserving this precious knowledge of how to live in tandem with the land in a regenerative, sustainable, symbiotic way!

Thank you, MOFGA, for having WWOOF join in on the fun and for 50 years of Common Ground - bringing so many people together around the land, food, and community. by @wwoof

"Heart was full after this trip" 🥹 thank you for sharing these sweet moments from WWOOFing in Spain! @audgadventures @wwoofspain by @wwoof

WWOOF was originally started in the UK back in the ’70s, with the idea that people from the city could get out onto the land for the weekend (or longer) - helping local farmers, reconnecting with nature, and learning by doing. We love this video because it demonstrates just that! WWOOFer Molly shares about visiting @creativebeingscic , @wwoofuk hosts for a second time.

"Being immersed in nature and getting involved in tasks, such as splitting logs, has been a real source of enjoyment! 🪵🌿"

Thank you both for being part of WWOOF @creativebeingscic by @wwoof
