And that’s a wrap on Short Film Adda for this month! 🎬

We came in wanting to put four short films in a room full of people who love cinema. What we got was an evening of films, conversations, questions, reactions and a room that stayed with us long after the screening ended.

A big thank you to the filmmakers of Turning Pink (@srish_teeea ) , Brownie (@divya_jagdaleofficial ), Gussa by (@himanshi.marwah ) and Before Colours by (@leenopatoli ) for sharing your work with us and trusting us to give it a space. And to everyone who came down to The Habitat, booked a seat, watched the films and stayed back for the Q&A, thank you for showing up for independent cinema.

This one was special. ❤️

See you at the next White Wall screening.

POV: White Wall Screenings has a new hangout spot, and it’s for feature films. 👀🎬

Our very first Movie Club is officially in the books! We kicked things off at The Habitat with Rukh, directed by Atanu Mukherjee, and a room full of people who love a good film as much as we do.

Short films aren’t going anywhere, but there’s a new kid on the block, and we can’t wait to bring you more independent feature films, more screenings, and more evenings spent with the big screen.

Here’s to the first of many. Who’s coming to the next one? 🍿

Subhadra Mahajan (@subs666 ) filmmaker from Himachal Pradesh whose storytelling is rooted in human emotions, quiet observations, and the complexities of everyday life. Her debut feature Second Chance premiered at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, introducing audiences to her deeply sensitive cinematic voice.

At its heart is Dheera Johnson @dheerajohnson_ , whose moving portrayal of Nia brings vulnerability, honesty, and warmth to this journey of rediscovery. With a performance that feels intimate, vulnerable, and wonderfully real, Dheera brings the character of Nia to life.

What an evening at UKBB! 🎬✨
We gathered for some truly special storytelling—diving into the layered narratives, quiet moments, and soft silences of Tara(@tara.shortfilm , Dir. @ashutoshs.shankar ), Riverbed of Dried Petals(Dir. @calceeworks, @calceeee), and Farewell (Dir. @maulinparmarr). But as always, the real magic happened when the credits rolled and the filmmakers opened up the floor.

The conversation afterwards was so honest and grounding, reminding us why these stories deserve to be told (and heard together). Thank you to everyone who brought a friend, filled the seats, and stayed back to talk film with us.
Swipe through for a few glimpses from the night! 📸

The Renault HIFAF Caravan is hitting the road!

Before festival begins in December, we’re taking independent cinema on an eight-day journey from Jaipur to Manali.

Starting 17 October, the HIFAF Caravan will bring together six independent filmmakers, three Renault vehicles, film screenings, and conversations with audiences across six cities.

Here’s what the journey looks like:

*3 Renault Vehicles
* 6 Cities
* 6 Filmmakers
* 6 Filmed Episodes
* 8 Days on the Road

The Route:
Jaipur → Delhi → Chandigarh → Shimla → Mandi → Manali

But the Caravan isn’t just a travelling film screening programme.

It’s a six-episode filmed series where the journey, the filmmakers, their films, and the audiences become part of one larger story.

At each stop, a curated film screening will bring independent cinema to local audiences, followed by conversations and Q&A sessions with the filmmakers.

Between cities, the filmmakers will travel with the Caravan, sharing their experiences, creative journeys, and perspectives on cinema through conversations filmed inside the Renault vehicles.

These experiences will be documented and developed into six episodes and 60+ social reels, bringing stories from the road to audiences beyond the screening venues.

The idea is simple: to take independent cinema beyond conventional festival spaces, connect filmmakers with new audiences, and build a wider conversation around films and filmmaking.

The Caravan will conclude its journey in Manali, setting the stage for the third edition of the Himachal International Film & Art Festival this December.

Stay tuned for city-wise screening schedules, filmmaker announcements, and updates from the road.

There’s a little more room on the White Wall now.
We’re excited to introduce Movie Club, a new space for independent feature films, and a natural extension of what White Wall Screenings has always loved doing: bringing good films and curious audiences into the same room.

For our very first Movie Club screening at The Habitat, we chose Rukh, directed by Atanu Mukherjee (@atanumukherjee ), to kick things off. Ten years after its release, it felt especially lovely to bring this film back to a screen and share it with an audience all over again.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped us make this first screening happen, and to everyone who came along and made the room feel like the beginning of something.
Our short film screenings will, of course, continue. But now, there’s a new chapter alongside them, one that makes space for independent feature films too.

Here’s to many more Movie Club screenings, many more films, and many more reasons to gather around a screen. by @wwscreenings
