In Spring quarter, our faculty voted on and passed our new mission statement. "We are a student-centered community of scholars and professionals dedicated to providing students with the foundation necessary to have a lifelong positive impact on business and society." This was a large collaborative effort with many thoughtful discussions. We look forward to backing up our mission with action the coming years! by @wwucbe

During his last quarter at Western Washington University, Jason Harper wrote a business plan for a brewery in an entrepreneurship class. That business plan looks a lot like the business he and his wife Kim run today, 15 years later.

Jason and Kim graduated from Western in 2011 and 2010, respectively, with bachelor’s degrees in business administration with a concentration in finance and minors in accounting. They became founders and co-owners of Stemma Brewing Co. in 2019.

This summer, Stemma brewed a small batch of Golden Ale to help commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Harpers’ alma mater, WWU’s College of Business and Economics.

The CBE Spring Gala was a night for the books! 🥂

On May 15th, we took over Chuckanut Bay Distillery to celebrate our incredible community. From the inspiring words of our Dean, Dr. Deanna Kennedy, alumni speaker Ruby LeClair, and student speaker Josh Darroch, to the seamless energy of our MCs, Anna Rez and Christina Asfour, it was an evening to remember.

A huge thank you to all the CBE clubs and guests who attended, and a special shoutout to Renee Gayden and the planning team for their tireless dedication to making this event seamless.
