Check out this drawing of this handsome 1972 @shobudofficial Professional, rack and barrel guitar played by @wyatt___wilson the steel guitar player for Braxton Keith.
He tells me, “Previously owned by Shane McCowen and bought by @braxton.keith June 1st of 2025. The front neck pickup went out so a new one was wound and replaced by Harry Jackson who also set up the guitar. I had it out on the road through all of June and July with the exception of throw and go shows due to its weight and I pulled it off of the road in August because I don’t have a case for it so it now resides at home where I practice on it and use it for occasional session work until I can find a proper case”
Wyatt as you know is a great dude and you should see him play with Braxton Keith next time hes in your neck of the woods…. They’re touring everywhere nonstop so could be soon! Check him out!

PS Thanks @simonhguitar777 for kicking this these drawings in motion!

4 years ago today I asked Alyssa to be my girlfriend and she actually said yes! Not only did she say yes but she’s actively decided to continue to put up with me and love me no matter what for the last 4 years together and I couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime :)

Check out this drawing of this beautiful 2020 @rittenberrysteelguitar SD10 owned by @wyatt___wilson the steel player for @braxton.keith
It’s kind of a prototype to the Flight model but bigger and not a Prestige either. Not a true SD10 - it’s a body and a half.

I was approached by @simonhguitar777 checking if I would be interested in drawing his bandmate Wyatt’s steel as a surprise for his buddy. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity.
Fun fact: Wyatt was also the 2024 TCMA Steel guitarist of the year!

Here’s what Wyatt told me about it, “I originally started playing on a Carter Starter that was just thrashed and I didn’t know any better until I was 16 in March of 2020 when I went to the Texas Steel Guitar Association’s jamboree in Irving,TX and had the opportunity to play a nice steel for the first time. Soon as I got home, the Carter was listed on Facebook for sale and almost immediately @1raddakota reached out asking if I was interested in Rittenberry and of course I said yes! Over the next several months I worked like crazy playing acoustic gigs and doing all kinds of odd jobs to afford it. After going back and forth with Derek and figuring out what I wanted out, this guitar was finished 9/16/2020. “

Standard E9 setup, E’s on the left.
RKL -1&2 raise, 6 lower(split)
RKR - 2&9 lower

Wyatt and Simon are both super dudes and I was happy to draw it. I loved working on the leather on the armrest and the reflection in the blue around the headstock. Make sure to check them both out and to look out for them the next time Braxton Keith is in your neck of the woods!

Heard @kennywhitmire_ ‘s version of this Merle classic on tik tok and thought it’d sound nice with some steel guitar on it!
