What if wellness began long before you walked through the door?

Hale House is imagined as a place for both movement and stillness, for heat, water, treatment, rest, and the quiet rituals that help restore you.

There are spaces to swim, sweat, stretch, recover, receive treatments, and simply be still. Thermal bathing, cold plunge, sauna and steam, relaxation rooms, and places for movement and fitness all sit within the same rhythm.

And that rhythm extends beyond the building, out to the pool, the gardens, and the Ramble.

Because perhaps the best kind of wellness isn’t an escape from everyday life.

The best part of The Commons may be what’s between everything.
Hale House opens onto gardens. The picking garden sits within reach of Hearth. The Well meets the water. The pool meets the lake. Paths, terraces, lawns and courts pull one place into the next.
It wasn’t planned as a collection of amenities. It was drawn as one place, with each part giving you a reason to wander into another.

Some houses are designed to be seen. The best ones are designed to be felt.

That idea runs through @jeffreydungan work, and through the architecture he is bringing to Wyelea. Architecture shaped by landscape, material, memory and the belief that a home should reveal itself slowly over time.

We’re celebrating Jeffrey and the upcoming release of The Soulful House, a new book gathering the work and thinking behind the places he creates.
