Nothing can prepare you for seeing your dog suffer 💔

Dexter gave us quite the scare and we thought he was going to lose the ability to use his back legs. The nearest neurologist is over 3 hours away but we were getting everything in place to take him in if we suspected he needed IVDD surgery.

He is walking so much better now and able to use the bathroom. We’re continuing strict rest and medications for the time being.

We love you, Dexter!

Dexter is on crate rest 😢

The x-rays showed some calcification and a backed up colon. He goes multiple times a day and we haven’t noticed anything wrong, so that was surprising. They gave him an enema to help get cleaned out.

He is on strict rest and carried outside for bathroom breaks throughout the day. The medication is helping his pain for the most part and we’re going to start ongoing constipation treatment.

I love my Dex and we’re doing everything we can to help him recover. 🐶💙
