Most people aren’t camera shy. They’re energy shy.
After 10 years modeling for some of the biggest brands in the world, heres what I’ve learned:

📸 It’s not the camera you’re uncomfortable with; it’s what you feel while standing in front of it.

1. Connect before you pose.
Your comfort shows in the shot. Talk to your photographer. Share a story. Crack a joke. Energy first, then art.

2. Play music that moves you.
Modeling is rhythm. Play what makes you feel alive it shows in your eyes, your mouth, your body.

3. Stop posing. Start feeling.
The best photos aren’t performed.. they’re felt. Breathe, move freely. Let the shutter be your metronome.

4. Use the lens like a mirror.
Forget it’s a camera. It’s you, reflected. Lock eyes like you’re checking in with yourself.

5. Forget “perfect.”
Most of my favorite shots were mistakes. The blink. The laugh. The in-between, let go!

6. Don’t copy. Channel.
This isn’t ANTM. You don’t need awkward poses. You need you. That’s what books. That’s what brands remember.

7. Move from intention, not impulse.
Every shift doesn’t need to be big but it should mean something. Move like you’re saying something, not just filling space.

8. Let tension tell the truth.
A clenched jaw. A soft hand. A held breath. Don’t run from those moments, use them. The camera captures what you feel, not just what you do.

9. Tell a story.
Think of a memory, a mood, a message. Your body will respond, a shift in weight, a softness in the eyes. That’s where real emotion lives.

10. Study your footage without judgment.
Watch yourself back not to criticize, but to understand. Notice your habits, your moments of truth. Confidence grows when you become your own creative collaborator.
