Tolkien is not merely a writer of fantasy — he is, in the truest sense, a literary architect. While many are familiar with the cinematic adaptations of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, only by engaging with his original texts does one begin to apprehend the depth of his mythopoeic imagination.
