Came out of hibernation this May and realized how much I’d been missing under the sun.I’ve only seen Dubai from a tourist’s perspective after almost two years of working here.For the past few years, my life has revolved around surviving, traveling out of the country or back home, but mostly working nonstop and grinding for money.I’m thankful that I get to see the beauty of this city beyond the hustle. by @xaaammmmm

𝐈 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞. I asked him for advice on how I could pursue a career that truly fulfills me. Somewhere along the convo, I told him that all I really want is financial stability and the freedom to travel.He replied, “So you want to escape? You’re escaping from something?”That line stayed with me for a very long time. I carried it as something negative, constantly asking myself, Am I really escaping from something? Why would I escape? Can’t it simply mean that I want to explore the world?Then suddenly, I realized that traveling gives me so much awakening. Thus, if self-discovery mean leaving the old version of myself and welcoming growth into my life, then maybe I am escaping. And maybe it doesn’t mean something bad after all.Today, I saw a different side of Dubai through my escape.
