POSTS STORIES REELS

This show is over… 🥹 but it’s not really the end.
It’s the closing of something that meant more to me than I can fully put into words.
To everyone who showed up, supported, donated, believed in it, or simply held space for this to exist… THANK YOU.
“Hearts Behind the Curtain” was created to honor that… and we’ve added three more names that came in after the program was printed. Your support still holds just as much weight, and I see you.
What we built here was real.
Messy, beautiful, exhausting, alive… REAL.
And I’ll carry this with me forever🤍
This may be a goodbye to this show…
but it’s also the beginning of whatever comes next.
I don’t know exactly what that is yet…
but I know I won’t be doing it alone.🤍

With love,
Azena

Every rehearsal, every laugh backstage, every missed cue, every standing ovation… gone in an instant, yet carried with us long after the curtain falls.

Grateful for every stage, every story, and every soul I’ve shared them with. 🎭✨

This is what it looks like before the magic happens.

Coffee… chaos… and a lot of “hmm… maybe.”

The next story is in here somewhere.
I just have to find it. 😉

Any suggestions are welcome 🤗

Proof that storytelling is in the details… ✨

Still not over this show, these moments, or these costumes.
Big love to our talented costume designer @samanthajobogart for making us look so good while falling apart on stage. 😉❤️

And to the beautiful stage design and lighting that helped bring it all to life! THANK you for creating the world we got to play in.

Truly grateful for every creative hand that made this magic possible.

Opening night magic ✨

The Owl and the Pussycat by Bill Manoff was absolutely beautiful from start to finish. The set alone pulled you right into the story and created such an intimate, captivating atmosphere.

I was so happy to have a small part in this production—truly an absolutely amazing experience being a part of something so special.

Azena Garcia’s take on this play is amazing—she’s a true talent who completely draws you in and keeps you there. And “Felix,” played by Nick Goodreau, was a perfect match. The chemistry between them and the sheer power of his performance was incredible.

The crowd roared for this amazing cast, and rightfully so 👏🏾 This is truly a must-see!

Theatre is alive and well in Noho. Go see it. by @xaalaproductions

Opening night.

What you’ll see on stage is a play.
What you won’t see… is everything it took to get here.

The doubts. The long days.
The moments I didn’t know if it was all going to come together.
The moments I questioned myself… and the moments I chose to keep going anyway.

People showed up… and some didn’t.
Plans shifted, money stretched, and fear got loud.

But somehow… we’re here.

This show exists because of the people who stayed, who believed, who gave their time, their talent, their energy…
and because I refused to let it go.

It’s not perfect.
It’s real. It’s alive. It’s happening.

And tonight is proof…
that even when it’s messy, uncertain, and scary,
you can still create something real.

XAALA Productions presents The Owl and the Pussycat.
In collaboration with First Lamb Productions

We open tonight. 💫

Theatre is community.
Theatre is family.
Theatre is love.
Theatre is such a gift.
The world can be so hard and full of bad.
But to get to spend so much time with such amazingly talented people, in a theatre, creating, laughing, getting frustrated, solving problems, having a-ha! Moments, and being so exhausted: there is NOTHING like it.
Blood, sweat, and tears: and a decade/decade and a half of creating worlds with these people.
Such a gift.
Having friends in the theatre for dress rehearsal last night was such a a great reminder of the community we’ve made and continue to create.
Ticket link in bio, come hang out this weekend in our little community of
Chocolate covered raisins
Legal pads
Coffee cups
Notes scribbled on scraps of paper
Cooking sherry
Paint brushes
Fries
Fresh squeezed Orange juice
And so much love, respect and admiration for all who put their hearts, backs, and souls on the line for the love of community, the love of theatre, and for the love of each other.
We open tomorrow! Get those tickets!!!!
