🏁 What brake fluid do we trust in our race car?

When you’re braking from 100+ mph lap after lap, brake fluid matters.🛑

In our 336bhp R56 MINI race car, we run Motul RBF660 because it delivers:

1️⃣ Extremely high boiling point (prevents brake fade)🌡️🔥

The biggest benefit is heat resistance.

• Dry boiling point: ~325 °C (617 °F)
• Wet boiling point: ~204 °C (400 °F)

When brake fluid boils, it creates vapour bubbles, which compress and cause the pedal to go soft or to the floor (vapour lock). ⚠️

High boiling points help prevent this during hard braking.

2️⃣ Much more consistent pedal feel

Because it resists boiling and aeration, you get:

• Firm brake pedal💪🏼
• Consistent braking lap after lap🏁
• Less pedal travel during long sessions⏱️

That consistency is crucial when you’re braking at the same points every lap.

3️⃣ Designed for motorsport temperatures🏎️🔥

Track braking generates huge heat transfer:

pads → discs → calipers → brake fluid.

RBF660 is formulated to handle extreme heat from racing brakes, including steel, carbon, or ceramic setups.

That’s why it’s commonly used in track days, racing, and endurance events.

4️⃣ Better performance in wet conditions or after moisture absorption💧

Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time.
RBF660 still maintains a high wet boiling point, meaning it stays effective even after some moisture contamination.

This matters because track cars often go through multiple heat cycles.🔁🔥

HOW TO MAKE POWER RELIABLY‼️

At Xander Performance we do things properly, we unlock the potential of your engine RELIABLY💪🏼

Our focus is to allow our customers to increase the power output of their engine in a way that lets you run that power consistently🏁

Now how do they work?🤔

- The AIRTEC Intercooler reduces intake air temperatures (IATs), cooler air is more dense meaning it can carry more oxygen molecules into your engine which is vital for consistent performance and reliability.

- The Scorpion Sports Cat reduces exhaust back pressure and increases the rate of air flow through your exhaust system, this also reduces exhaust temperatures as the hot air from the turbo can escape quicker meaning your engine and exhaust system are working in unison, creating faster turbo spool leading to better throttle response and more scope for increasing power, this is vital for performance and reliability.

- Finally the AEM Cold Air Intake pulls air from outside the engine bay but the way it does it is clever, the AEM kit is supplied with an air duct that utilises the MINI bonnet scoop, this directs the cold air straight into your airbox where a larger AEM cone filter sits, allowing an increased rate of flow so that cold air can reach your engine quicker meaning your intercooler has less work to do.

These 3 modifications are imperative for maintaining the performance of your MINI, reliably.
