Some days you have to squint to see where you’re going. Some days even squinting doesn’t help, but hey, you gotta keep navigating.

Revisiting these from an autumn at VanDusen a couple of years ago. I can almost hear the banjo.

Some things are right in front of us. Somehow, nothing quite fits.

First the bikes, now the doors. Montreal really likes red.

Colour-bearer.

Leaves don’t turn orange in the fall. The colour was always there, hidden under the green. It only shows when something breaks down.

Most of the year, every tree looks the same. Then autumn shows which ones were orange all along.

Ten days in, I think that’s what this challenge is doing. Not making me someone new, just showing me what was already there.

After yesterday’s fog, a reminder that clear days happen too.

8/365 • Fog

——

Fog season has started in Vancouver.

I’m starting my second week of the 365-day challenge, and the fog feels like a good parallel for where I am with art. Some days I can’t see much ahead. It’s hard to know what I like, or what I want to photograph. Brain fog makes decisions hard.

It’s getting better, though. This is definitely helping.

Some half-frames in a Sunday morning. Metrotown can be pretty cool :)
