Men of the Mecca is proud to announce this weeks man of the week Xavier Rodriquez the President of Howard University’s Chapel Assistants

Xavier Rodriguez is a Senior Mechanical Engineering Major representing San Diego, California. Having lived in several states throughout his life, Xavier presents an adaptable factor that lets him make the most of any space he’s in whether new or familiar. Knowing this he is striving to be a leader that makes more leaders which led to him creating spaces to allow others to grow comfortable with taking charge.
Xavier Rodriguez has had the opportunity to begin his leadership in his sophomore year, taking charge as Howard University’s Military Community Advocate (MCA) for the 2024-2025 school year. This gave him the responsibility to make direct change for student veterans and those who are military connected on campus to build them a community. Now in present day, the military community’s impact on campus can be felt and more students feel they have a space and reliable community backing them. Xavier continues to serve this year being the Membership Officer for Student Veterans of America, with the goal of increasing exposure and inclusion campus wide.
Xavier has been able to also serve the Office of the Dean of the Chapel as the Chapel Assistant’s hospitality chair and now humbly serves as its President. Xavier utilizes this opportunity to showcase why the community is so important when being a leader. Learning from others is the main aspect of Xavier’s leadership as President. Everyone’s input can be valuable, which is the reason Xavier wants to amplify everyone’s voice.

First off I would like to say I’m truly grateful for everything you have done for me Coach Rod. You have been like a mentor to me since I was 7. Today is just another example of how blessed I am to have you as a Coach. You’re truly like family to me. Thank you for everything you have done for me (and my brother too). taken in Speed To Enhance Performance Academy by @xavier_rod_20
