We’re kicking off Holiday Hope & Healing: A Place You Belong.

This holiday season, Xavier Mission has a goal of raising $500,000 to support our neighbors facing hunger, financial hardship, housing instability, and difficult seasons of life.

Because everyone deserves a place where they are welcomed with dignity, met with compassion, and reminded that they are not alone.

As one Xavier Mission guest shared:
“Sometimes you don’t need someone to fix everything. You just need to know that somebody cares, that somebody sees you, and that you’re not alone.”

That is what A Place You Belong is all about. And it is what your generosity makes possible.

Help us reach our $500,000 goal and keep Xavier Mission a place where every neighbor can find comfort, connection, and hope.

Give today. Help us make Xavier Mission A Place You Belong.

A $5 pumpkin spice latte. A $5 beer after work. What if that same $5 could become a monthly habit of giving back?

This fall, make the X-PACT with Xavier Mission.
For just $5 a month, you can help provide food, clothing, financial assistance, life-strategy support, and a caring community to our neighbors, all year long.

Because $5 may feel small, but when it becomes a habit, it becomes something we can count on. And so can the people who walk through our doors.

Choose the monthly gift that works for you: $5, $10, $25, or $50.

Fall into the habit of giving back. Make the X-PACT today.

Tomorrow is Election Day. Before the day gets away from you, take a moment to make your voice heard.

Vote with your conscience. Think about the people around you, the neighbors who may be facing challenges you cannot see, the families working hard to make ends meet, and the kind of community you want to be part of.
We may not all see things the same way, but we all have a stake in the world we share. Our voices matter, our choices matter, and so does the way we show up for one another.

At Xavier Mission, we believe in a community where everyone belongs, everyone is treated with dignity, and no one has to face life’s challenges alone.

Tomorrow, let your voice be heard. And wherever you go from here, lead with kindness, compassion, and care for one another. by @xaviermission

Halloween is a time for things that go bump in the night, spooky stories, and a little bit of fright. But for our neighbors experiencing hunger and homelessness, some of the scariest uncertainties have nothing to do with ghosts or goblins.

Imagine not knowing where you’ll sleep tonight. Wondering when you’ll eat again. Trying to navigate the world without knowing where to turn for help. These are realities that too many people in our community face every single day.

At Xavier Mission, we believe no one should have to face these fears alone. Through our Welcome Table, Customer Choice Food Pantry, and other essential programs, we work alongside our neighbors to provide nourishment, support, and a place where everyone is treated with dignity.

This Halloween, let’s remember that compassion is more powerful than fear, and that we all have a role to play in caring for one another.

Help us turn fear into hope. Stand with Xavier Mission and support our work to fight hunger, address homelessness, and ensure our neighbors have somewhere to turn when they need it most.

Because the scariest thing shouldn’t be wondering where your next meal will come from.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to honor survivors, raise awareness, and recognize the barriers that can make finding safety and stability especially difficult.

Domestic violence does not exist in isolation. For many survivors, leaving an abusive situation can mean facing the possibility of homelessness, financial insecurity, or hunger. When someone lacks access to savings, affordable housing, reliable transportation, or a support system, the path to safety can become even more complicated. Poverty and homelessness can both increase vulnerability and create additional barriers to leaving an unsafe environment.

At Xavier Mission, we understand that these challenges are deeply interconnected. Hunger, housing insecurity, and financial hardship can affect every part of a person’s life, often making it harder to find stability during an already difficult time. Through our Welcome Table, Customer Choice Food Pantry, Eviction Prevention program, and Life Skills Empowerment Program, we work alongside our neighbors to address immediate needs and connect people with resources that support greater stability and independence.

Addressing domestic violence also means recognizing the circumstances that can limit a person’s choices. It means building communities where people can access food, housing support, and essential resources without judgment, and where asking for help is met with compassion rather than shame.

This month, we reaffirm our commitment to a community where everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to build a more secure future. Because no one should have to choose between their safety and their survival.

At Xavier Mission, we believe everyone deserves a place to turn. Together, we can help build a community where no one has to face hardship alone.

If you or someone you know needs support, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 800-799-SAFE (7233), by texting START to 88788, or visiting thehotline.org.

In October, we commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, a reminder that poverty is not a personal failure. It is a reality shaped by circumstances, systems, and barriers that no one should have to navigate alone.

At Xavier Mission, we see every day how hunger, housing insecurity, and financial hardship affect our neighbors. We also see their resilience, their generosity, and the strength that grows when a community shows up for one another.

Ending poverty takes more than awareness. It takes action, compassion, and a commitment to making sure everyone has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they deserve. Through our Welcome Table, Customer Choice Food Pantry, Eviction Prevention program, and Life Strategies and Empowerment Program, Xavier Mission works alongside our neighbors to meet immediate needs while helping build pathways toward greater stability.

This month, and every month, we invite you to stand with us. Because dignity should never depend on a person’s circumstances, and everyone deserves the opportunity to build a more secure future.

Poverty is not inevitable. Together, we can help change what comes next.

Everyone deserves a little Halloween magic.

At Xavier Mission, we believe joy, celebration, and the chance to simply be a kid should never depend on a family’s circumstances. That’s why we were so happy to bring our community together for an afternoon of Halloween fun!

From pumpkin decorating led by Unframed Arts Collective, with pumpkins generously donated by Trader Joe’s Chelsea, to games, face painting, and a drum that kept little hands busy all afternoon, our Halloween party was filled with creativity, laughter, and the kind of moments that make childhood special.

Because behind every pumpkin painted and every face transformed into something spooky, there was something even more meaningful: families coming together, children making memories, and neighbors sharing in the simple joy of celebrating.

At Xavier Mission, we believe everyone deserves to feel welcomed, included, and part of a community that cares. Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration possible and reminded us that sometimes the most meaningful magic is the kind we create together.

Here’s to more laughter, more connection, and more moments that remind every child and family that they belong.

Some evenings remind us just how much beauty can happen when a community comes together.

Our Autumn Art & Acoustics evening was a celebration of everything that makes Xavier Mission so special: creativity, connection, generosity, and the people who make this community what it is.

A heartfelt thank-you to Luismaria Hernandez for sharing her extraordinary voice with us. Her beautiful vocals filled the room with music that brought us together, invited us to pause, and made the evening all the more memorable. We are so grateful to have her not only as an incredible classical opera singer, but also as a member of our Mission community.

We are equally grateful to the artists who shared their work with us, including Xavier Mission supporters, SFX parishioners, Mission guests, and the Unframed Arts Collective. Each piece brought its own story, perspective, and beauty into the room, reminding us that art has a remarkable way of creating connection across experiences and backgrounds.

And to everyone who joined us, helped bring this evening to life, and made space for one another: thank you.

At Xavier Mission, community is more than a place. It is something we create together, through the gifts we share, the stories we tell, and the moments when we come together simply to appreciate what makes us human.

Thank you for making Autumn Art & Acoustics such a meaningful celebration. We are so glad to share this community with you.

Our neighbors need us this Sunday. Will you join us?

At Xavier Mission, showing up for one another is what community is all about. This Sunday afternoon, we’re especially short on volunteers and need a few more helping hands to make sure we can continue serving our neighbors with the care, dignity, and welcome they deserve.

If you have a few hours to give, we would be so grateful to have you with us. Whether you volunteer with us regularly or are looking for a way to get involved for the first time, there’s a place for you here.
