Luftgekühlt 10 Double Exposures:
I brought a new-to-me late 50s Leica iiig film camera to @luftgekuhlt. In most cameras, after shooting a roll of film, the film gets spooled back into the canister. Because of this camera's unique film-loading system, the film still hangs out of the canister after rewinding the film. In the craziness of Luftgekühlt - I accidentally shot the same roll of film, twice! Here are some of those double-exposed frames - unintentional, happy accidents - from that roll of #portra400.

Luftgekühlt 10 Load In: These frames show the unloading and careful placement of the 1971 Martini Racing Porsche 917K (Short Tail) in Martini livery in the Universal Studios Back Lot for @luftgekuhlt 10. Campaigned by Martini Racing Team in 1971, chassis 019 has been preserved in the same unrestored condition as when it finished the Spa 1000km race.
Chassis 019 is powered by a 4907cc flat-12 air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, which developed 600hp in a car that weighed 1760 lb.

Luftgekühlt 10 Load In: These frames show the unloading and careful placement of the Porsche 962-112 in the Universal Studios Back Lot's little Europe for @luftgekuhlt 10.

I attended Luftgekühlt 7 after taking a single photography class. At the time I was unequipped to capture the visual Porsche poetry of @luftgekuhlt. Inspired, I worked to sharpen my skills and train my eye over the following years.

I would have never dreamed I would be given the opportunity to be a part of the Luftgekühlt photography team just a few years later. Thank you @zwart , @plmotorsport , @howieidelson , @gregemmerson , @erinldrummond and the Luft team for the privilege.

It was an honor to shoot alongside the heavy hitters @thvddeus and the @race.service team, @larry_chen_foto , @nick_karampotis , @nevin.pontious , @iamdrewseph, @porschuhhs , @vedennn , et al.

I used multiple mediums - digital full frame, medium format, 35mm, and Polaroid - to capture the many textures, shades, and feels of Luftgekühlt. I hope you enjoy my vision - many posts to come!

40th Anniversary Calenda.
Oaxaca, Mexico.

I went to Oaxaca on a solo birthday trip, with little planned and a openness to whatever might find me.
What found me was a family.
A Chinese family celebrating their parents’ 40th anniversary invited me into their candela and into their lives. I wasn’t just there to photograph the night. I shared a dinner with them, sat at their table, and for a brief moment became part of something intimate and lasting.
They wanted more than images. They wanted to create a memory, to share it even with a stranger, and to carry it forward as a gift to their parents. The photographs became a book. The experience became something I will hold onto.
This is one frame from that night.
Grateful for the kind of travel that unfolds without plans, when you leave space for the unexpected and the universe fills it with people, connection, and meaning.
This piece will be available as a print at the Tomo Photobus show this Saturday, June 13.
