XM014 Rodja - Third Force

Spanning a decade of recordings between Tehran and Matera, Rodja’s debut album is an immersion into dubbed-out sonics shaped by memory and experimentation. The nine tracks collected here trace a personal geography—moving between Ekbatan’s concrete echoes and the ancient stone reverberations of Matera.
Rooted in dub science, the album unfolds as a series of versions, mutations, and reassemblies. Rhythms dissolve and re-emerge, fragments of sound are treated, re-treated, and sent back through the echo chamber—a study in transformation, where each piece feels like a parallel state of another. Working from tapes and DAT recordings, Nothus re-arranged the material in post-production, producing three further versions extending the album’s internal logic of drift, erosion, and return. Nothing resolves but everything circulates.

This is our last dance in Matera.
a decade after the first record out, 10+ years of gatherings, it just comes natural to close this chapter, or at least this specific formula.

honoured to have Zohar playing in the south for the first time (watch this space, something’s coming on the airwaves soon), a long-awaited return of the don himself Samuel Kerridge, Rodja bringing a hybrid live rendition of his debut album, White Ash trio performing live, and Franco Fonato and Nothus respectively opening and closing the night.

The last rhythm, let’s fucking have it.

Zohar carries a razor-sharp, highly dynamic club signature — years spent controlling dancefloors across a diverse and eclectic path, with rattling low-end and rhythmic tension as the constants.

A mainstay of the Dutch scene, with dates at Dekmantel Festival and FIBER, as well as several international appearances including a run at the Opera House UK and, most recently, Primavera Festival. Two self-released records via Clone Rotterdam, compilation cuts for Dekmantel and Traumgarten, and most recently Mirrors — her collaboration with Nymfo on Dekmantel - a full 12” on XCPT is next.

We’re finally super happy to have @zoharzohar_ playing in the south for a wild excursion into sonics.

XM015 Low End Activist - JH Versions

Following earlier appearances on Time Horizon IV and a remix for Pushlock's "Journey at the end of the Brain", Low End Activist returns to further cement his link with XCPT — this time with a full-length that extends into a shared message.

It’s a record that deals in pressure and placement where the rhythms carry weight without dominating, allowing tones to dissolve at the edges. Space isn’t decorative here, it’s structural — carrying as much intent as the low-end itself.
A respectful and meticulous approach emerges in the spectral handling of samples — spooked, finely cut, and quietly rooted in a jazz-derived sphere.

Inspired by the 94-96 jazz-era of Jungle/ D&B from the likes of Photek, Wax Doctor & Alex Reece to name a few, the album stays locked into its own logic of reduction, control, and tension. What emerges is a fluid listening experience less about peaks, more about persistence, 8 Tracks spanning the various palette of bass music through the art of good sampling; both for the floor but also for intimate momentum of introspection. A Journey into the sound merging the new with the old school.
