Too Little, Too Late,
Too Much, too Soon
@last_little_haven in Vienna
is on view until 24.04.2026 each Friday from 18-22:00

From the exhibition text:
🔳 As a draftsperson, Xenia Fink is interested in the mutability of the textile form, especially in the way drapery can represent physicality, and how, as material excess, it is repeatedly associated with the decorative and thus with the “feminine.” Fink, however, conceives drapery as a fluid and capacious form. In her drawings, the ornamental meets restraint in an equal desire for openness.

Come by 03.04.2026 to take a look at Xenia Fink's phantastic drawings!!!

The exhibition opens 03.04.2026 – the artist talk will start at 19:00- 18-22:00 and is on view until 24.04.2026 each Friday from 18-22:00.

About Xenia Fink:

“Xenia Fink’s work has primarily focused on drapery as a subject. As a draftsperson, she is interested in the mutability of the textile form, especially in the way drapery can represent physicality, and how, as material excess, it is repeatedly associated with the decorative and thus with the “feminine.” Fink, however, conceives drapery as a fluid and capacious form. In her drawings, the ornamental meets restraint in an equal desire for openness.

Fink not only explores the feminine connotations of draped fabric, but also combines it with the motif of hair. In her drawings, both emerge as kindred arabesques. Against the white background, hatched and entangled lines pulsate, gather, or spin around themselves, only to dissolve on the white of the background. A sensual pleasure of looking is built through an accumulation of lines, only to become two-dimensional again.” by @xeniafink

Thinking Collectives / Collective Thinking grew out of conversations across documenta fifteen, the 14th Gwangju Biennial, and related gatherings. It explores collective artistic practices through histories, personal experiences, and theories in the context of global Asias.

To celebrate its release, we’re highlighting the six art collectives who contributed to the book. Their reflections on how and why they work together, offers critical insight into collectivism.

Republic of the Other @republic_of_the_other, founded by artists Jinny Yu and Xenia Fink, is an ongoing collaborative project that explores belonging, displacement, and the shifting roles of host and guest. Conceived as a conceptual territory without fixed borders, it functions as both a fictional republic and a platform for artistic research. Through installations, publications, and participatory actions, the project examines how “the Other” is constructed and received within social and political structures. Republic of the Other invites viewers to enter this imagined space, questioning their own positions and responsibilities in shaping more porous, inclusive forms of community.

Thinking Collectives / Collective Thinking is edited by Eva Bentcheva, Annie Jael Kwan and Ming Tiampo. It was developed in partnership with Worlding Public Cultures, and published by ICI Berlin Press. It’s available in print and as a free open access e-book from the @iciberlinpress website - link in bio.

A review of the StudioShow @sidgastl with a focus on drawing.

He was a wonderful host. If you swipe through, you'll see some of his beautiful drawings. Unfortunately I didn't capture his other drawing installation replete with small but beautifully-ominous ink and charcoal works.

Thank you to the colleagues, friends and new acquaintances who came to see our works over those the few days and attended our artist talk last Sunday.
