Following the release at Tokyo Game Show 2026, Square Enix has now also started sales of the “Square Enix Music Collection Keychain Vol. 3” via the Japanese Square Enix e-STORE lottery and SQEX CAPSULE GARDEN.

The third collection features miniature keychains based on popular Square Enix music albums, including five Final Fantasy-related releases:
- Final Fantasy VII Original Soundtrack
- Final Fantasy XIII Original Soundtrack PLUS
- Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden Original Soundtrack
- Journeys: Final Fantasy XIV ~ Arrangement Album ~
- #SQkawaii Sounds -Final Fantasy-

The other five designs are based on albums from Drakengard, the SaGa series, Octopath Traveler, NieR Re[in]carnation and SQ Relax.

Each lottery draw costs ¥600 (€3.35 / $3.81), with one of the ten designs selected at random. The keychains also have a built-in NFC tag, which displays multiple music streaming services where the album is available. The keychains will be available until September 28, 2027, but sales can end earlier if stock runs out. by @xeznaff

Even though summer is already over (at least in Germany) and it's getting colder, Square Enix Asia recently shared clothing references for Aerith and Tifa's beach outfits. So, in case you missed them, here they are to bring a little bit of “warmth” to these cold days 😅

First up is Aerith’s Floral Delight outfit! 💗

Naoki Hamaguchi explained that Cloud was the foundation of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy's combat system, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation now has to make that system work during a part of the story where Cloud is not with the party.

Battle designer Teruki Endo had previously described Cloud as the “central spine” of the combat system, with his moveset serving as the basis for the new system. Braver was one example of an iconic move that the team had to adapt while keeping the original feel of the character.

Based on the story we know from the original Final Fantasy VII, Revelation reaches the part of the story where Cloud is absent from the party. That means the combat system has to remain effective and enjoyable even when the character it was originally built around is unavailable.

“We really wanted all the characters to be all-rounders. There's never a situation where [players] go, 'Oh shoot, this character doesn't really work for this battle'. That was never part of the plan. Any character you choose is capable of taking part in any battle and playing hundreds of hours [with].” by @xeznaff

Naoki Hamaguchi discussed with GamesRadar+ again whether newcomers should play the original 1997 Final Fantasy VII before starting the Remake trilogy.

He says knowing the original can make it more fun to notice what is changing, but the trilogy was also designed so newcomers can start with Remake without prior knowledge.

Hamaguchi also says starting with the Remake series lets players experience the story for the first time with modern graphics, so ultimately it comes down to personal preference. by @xeznaff

2 weeks after showing you my recent pickups during my Final Fantasy News Recap stream, I finally managed to open all the Final Fantasy TCG display boxes. Now my office looks like I’m about to open a store... (even more than usual lol)

After I was afraid that I would run dry at some point, I topped up some of the last and luckily still available releases. All those packs are, of course, not meant to be opened in one go, but I will open all of them on stream during my gameplay and news recap streams.

I hope this batch will last for a while now 😅

P.S. I totally forgot that some of those boxes also come with a promo card, so I got two Japanese Vincent cards. I’ll keep one sealed and eventually give it away 😊 by @xeznaff

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will become available in 38 additional countries and regions following maintenance on September 29, bringing its total availability to 66 countries and regions worldwide.

According to Producer Naoya Matsumoto, the team reviewed requirements for each new region, including server connectivity, before expanding the game's availability. The team will continue exploring opportunities to bring Dissidia Duellum to more regions in the future.

Matsumoto also confirmed that new characters will continue to be added in future updates. by @xeznaff
