The Slip

The core of this slip dress is a striped silk satin fabric I found at the textile market.
It almost resembles the visual texture of devoré, but is actually woven into the fabric from the start.

I combined it with spiral cutting lines to create a subtle disruption in the direction of the stripes.
Of course, I also tried aligning them — but the offset felt more alive, more like the uneven rhythm of piano keys themselves or like an abstract composition shaped by musical logic. by @xiaotiiiiing_chen

It captures the moment of breath within the rhythm. The striped sheer silk slip is a gentle inhale after the downbeat, quietly gathering tension before the next measure unfolds.

This cropped cape jacket is a study in silhouette and tension.
Its back structure recalls medieval capes, seamlessly integrated with the tailored two-piece sleeves of a classic women’s jacket.

The piece explores a merger between body-conscious precision and soft drape—

Look2

As the rhythm truly begins, structure and motion come into focus. This look marks the first measure of the dance.

The cloak drapes from the shoulders like a lengthened chord, a medieval echo restructured into fluid movement. No longer a shield, it extends outward — like reverberation lingering in an empty chapel.

Beneath the cloak, a white skirt leaps like piano keys in motion, echoing the pleated grey trousers from the first look. The white jersey crepe flickers with each step,
its rhythm skipping at the knees — light, crisp, and precise.

Finally, red sheepskin boots strike a visual downbeat — borrowing the shape of medieval stockings and dyed in defiant scarlet. The laces hang like unfinished tuning, each step landing with audible intent.

Fabric Technique — Crochet

The hats, socks, and vests in this collection incorporate a structured square texture using the existing technique of alternating front post and back post double crochet stitches (FPDC/BPDC).

Commonly used to build texture and relief in crochet, this post-stitch method relies on directional hook placement to create a raised surface with a woven-block appearance, enhancing both stability and depth.

In this context, the technique is applied to introduce rhythmic surface logic and tactile geometry into everyday garments. It also subtly echoes the grid structure of musical notation.

Fabric Technics—Devoré

In look1, the shirt is crafted from a silk-viscose blended fabric developed through the devoré (burnout) technique, where selected fibers are removed to reveal delicate, semi-transparent patterns.

I experimented with a purple ombré dye on the treated fabric—due to the different fiber compositions, the sheer and opaque areas absorbed color in distinct ways, creating subtle chromatic depth.

While visually rich, I ultimately chose a clean white finish for a sharper and more minimal statement in the final look.

(The dyed sample is archived for future development.)

Look1

Before the rhythm begins, there’s always a breath — grounded, held, and waiting.
The hand-crochet wool beret sits heavy, quiet, like a first note that hasn’t yet struck.

The devoré shirt follows as an anacrusis — a quiet lead-in before the full rhythm unfolds.
Musical grid motifs are gently burned away from the viscose layer, leaving sheer silk to catch the light and unveil the body beneath.
Its plunging neckline breaks the formality of tailoring, allowing breath and movement to flow through the silhouette.

Voluminous wool trousers fall like scattered staves of an unfinished score — softened, slackened, unfolding in silence.

A leather string pouch, drawn from a square, slips between the folds like a note finding its bar.
