POSTS STORIES REELS

Just not long ago, brown was not a choice for fashion or even cars on the road, our tendencies changes over time. Now you might find natural colors can touch your soul even more, or not! It’s subjective, really. In 2019, a wild thought led us had the idea to want to turn this old technic used by local fishermen to a form of art, with no books to read on, we experiment along the way, after many years, we finally came to the color effects we feel comfortable with. Many asked why we do not do other colors, that is because we want to be the voice of mangrove forest, while we still have half.

Whether we know it or not, we are loved faithfully and quietly, by mangrove forests, that doesn’t ask for anything in return. This is an invitation, to get to know her. by @xiapism

Something a little different today! 🌿

We started with some mangrove bark dyeing, then went to check out a traditional charcoal kiln!

Got to try something fun and learn a little more about mangroves along the way 🤎🔥 by @xiapism

Glow In The Box

See you at the next For.Rest.

Our carton arch has taught us one thing:

Sustainability can be… surprisingly dramatic. 😂

30 discarded Watsons cartons.
3 rebuilds.
A few moments of panic.
And one very determined team.

Was the arch perfect? Definitely not.

But we believe trying to give discarded materials a second life is worth the trouble — even when the result is a little slanted and a little sad. 😆

What matters is that we keep learning, improving and trying again.

And we’re grateful that the mall is willing to experiment with us and make sustainability part of a real public event.

Maybe the future isn’t about making everything perfect.

Maybe it’s about being willing to try differently. Thanks to @sunwaybigbox and @for_rest.2024 for letting us try.

:::

Glow In The Box

A market can be more than a place to buy things.

It can be a place to discover people.

People who make with their hands.
People who create after work.
People who are building something of their own.

Sales matter — makers need to make a living.

But perhaps there are other returns too:

Joy. Connection. Inspiration. Belonging.

And maybe when people feel more connected and fulfilled, something good ripples outward.

Maybe happiness is meaningful ROI too.

Come meet the makers, discover their stories, and see what they’re making.

Today & tomorrow at @sunwaybigbox

by @xiapism

The creative market, Harvest Market - food, dessert & beverage stalls, together with the Cheah Fah Charity Run and Little-Preneur Market, brought plenty of energy to Sunway Big Box from the morning. A big thank you to all of you who arrived early and stayed throughout the day, making sure everyone could still browse the market and grab something to eat after the activities wrapped up.

Seeing all your smiling faces in photos at your stalls made us smile too. These little moments of connection and interaction that happen naturally at the market are the beautiful moments we believe in.

As the sky grew darker, the Mid-Autumn stage came to life. Hana Children’s Choir opened the evening with The Moonlight in the City, followed by beautiful melodies and voices that accompanied us through the night, bringing Day 2 to a lovely close. by @xiapism
