I see you in a different light but darkness is familiar
Tryna keep you in my life, I feel I can fulfill ya
Not tryna drink every night cause I don’t want Tekillya
Smokin just to help me fight this urge I have to spill ya
All my heart, cause I’ve been known to open up to you so peacefully
You keep my mental extra stable when you speak to me
I can’t outrun you cause you constantly keep me at peace
I’m still scared of you cause you do all of this so easily
- Free XIII by @xiiifree

I feel you in my veins, you’re practically my conscience
I can’t get away, I’m just bein honest
Girl this ain’t a game, it’s bout time that I own it
This may sound really lame but you’re who I wanna grow with
I know that I want ya but my mind won’t let me trust ya
I don’t think you’d do me like that but the trust I cannot muster
I trust you as a friend but scared to trust you as a lover
Only me and my sister know I’d place no one above ya
But I’m afraid

Shade

It don’t even matter, shit was hella toxic
Bad gifts, put it back, please let me rebox it
I don’t even want it, you took away my calmness
You talked about a lot but refused to walk it
3 years wasted, I want to be faded
Fuck sober, kick back, I’m intoxicated
Gotta keep it movin, I can’t sit here waitin
It ain’t that deep, can’t make it complicated

I've been fightin demons that I cannot defeat
Yet I kill as many as I can no matter what I see
And I fall deeper in the pit as they're comin after me
I can't get away, just temporarily retreat
This is gettin out of hand
My mind is spinnin everyday
I can't seem to make a plan
I just fight with short delays
I can't even say I can
This a war, this ain't a play
I don't see a second chance
Because this shit ain't a game
The difference between me and them is I want to succeed
But they were born with power, all I have is history
They have all these powers and these sick abilities
All I have is my experience fightin death inside of me by @xiiifree

I thought meditation would help
But I don't get to do that
Y'all keep takin from my plate
I suggest you give my food back
I've been tryna stack my shelves
Put some books upon my racks
But I'm runnin out of options
I can't seem to stay on track
So when I say I need help
Understand it took lots out of me
That I battled every ounce of self
Ain't as strong as I should be
If I could do it myself
I wouldn't have felt awkwardly
So know that if I need it
Be surprised if I ask outwardly by @xiiifree

I'm entirely stressed
Mind's fucked up, I'm depressed
Prayin ever so often
But feel far from blessed
It's not a test
My mind is highly stretched
I could aim for more
But always end up with less by @xiiifree

I can't seem to beat these depressive defeats
Fallin in pitch black holes I can't see
Started drinkin off all the pain that I bleed
Now I just smoke when in pain, can you believe
So understand that there's a battle in me
It's a war I been fightin just to regain my peace
A battle with an end that is difficult to see
Until Free XIII can actually free XIII by @xiiifree

If you would listen carefully
I've been tellin you what I need
The issue is you don't believe
So you keep disregardin me
Inside I hold in armies
Of demons that's always hauntin me
Showin me all my failures
And I hide that in all honesty
Cause as much as I fight them
They honestly keep defeatin me
And I just keep escapin
I don't see what strength y'all see in me
I guess I appear strong to you
But I just play off bein weak
So strength is an illusion
I'm just really numb to pain you see

I been tryna run away from the doors of defeat
Tryna keep myself off the floor with my knees
I've been fightin demons that are boring to me
Only needin TLC but ignorin the creeps
I'm just tryna grow so I'm plantin the seeds
Tryna water life that's enchantin to me
Tired when I stand so I plant in my seat
Thinkin bout the lady who's expandin with me
- XIII's (me) Know Yourself verse by @xiiifree

Man, there's a cycle that I really wanna end
Cause until that shit's defeated, we'll always be injured men
Damaged beyond repair and unable to transcend
It's a cycle that we all know well but it's far from a friend
We teach our daughters to let out the pain cause it's unhealthy to keep
But we teach our sons to store it and hold in that defeat
If you cry, shout, or react then you're weak in the knees
But if you hold it all in then you're as strong as can be
Then we teach our daughters those same attributes make them elite
Powerful women can wear their heart on their sleeves
But if you a man, you suck it up and choke on the pain you receive
And I'm aware that combating this will make me public enemy
But y'all don't understand this makes communication difficult
Cause she can spill it all to him but he ain't got no feelins tho
But that's just how it appears, so when he's alone his feelins catapult
Turnin into anger, tho it's his sadness that he's maskin tho by @xiiifree

You want me to work harder than I do for myself
Keep your money flowin, while I'm declining in health
Stressin over bills, while my mind's bout to melt
Just keep workin for you when I should work on myself
I need to escape from the stereotypes of my complexion
Like how they see my skin as evil but fail to mention
How we were kicked from homeroom and sent to detention
Forced into free labor, that's punishment with restriction
But I gotta fight thru the problems and take part in the war
Battle at my best till I can't battle no more
Let my obstacles know I came to settle the score
And when I wanna quit, I remember what I'm fightin for by @xiiifree
