Always forward.

A soft and sparse blanket, an emblem of morning, was covering the wetlands of New Cifera. Caminhanti felt the fresh dew as her hand ran gently through the witchberry bushes along the road. It was a winter morning of the South; the sun had not risen yet but the cranes of the valley had already started their gracious foraging routine. She sensed the coldness spiralling around her, and she welcomed it. The water drops and the promise they carry. The flavour of life.

The Shaman climbed the slope and looked around her. Far in the distance, she could see the Yan-Zhe River. The fishermen were getting the nets ready. She thought of her grandpa and the time they spent together on his fishing boat. How reluctant and scared she was as a kid when the boat ventured into an open sea for the first time, how, with time, the fishing rituals of late evenings and dawns became her own, and how she would never miss a chance to assist her grandpa till he was no longer with her.

Caminhanti took a few steps towards the Pools. The grass, soft and cold. The fruit of earth. Milky illusions were surrounding the stones as the water moved forward. Always forward. She placed her hand on the water surface. You remind me of all the places I have ever been to; she said and felt the coldness of water underneath her palm. A jigsaw puzzle of her past. The kids playing in their rowboats in the sacred corners of the river, her grandpa lowering fishing nets, his wrinkled hands matching the broken water surface as endless meters of ropes were disappearing into the depths. The water always moving forward. Always forward.

Day 332.

It's the third day since venturing into the decay-infested caverns in the southwest of the Isle of Dorn. The fumes certainly affected me longer than I anticipated. The destabilizing crystals Caminhanti left with me helped to eradicate the effects of the decay on most of the infected areas in the caverns.

Still unclear why this particular tribe of Fungarians decided to fiddle with it. Lethnal, a Kirin Tor mage, is working on that with futile effects so far.

I foolishly let the decay ooze over my wind-and-fire wheels. I luckily managed to rip the leather padding off in time, hopefully not affecting the blades. I'd hate to think the decay could have affected the weapon. For the past two days, I've let the blades soak in the infusion of Earthroot, hoping to eradicate any possible infection and corrosion. Imbuing it with spirit will hopefully balance any trait of decay in them. The mist imbuing will last for a while, but ultimately, the decay will have to be balanced with spirit. I will wait till Caminhanti's return so she can perform the necessary ritual.

I patched a few rugged pieces of leather I had left as temporary padding. The grip seems to do its job for now; I will probably have to replace it before the cold season.

Yunarei's weapon is wind-and-fire wheels, a weapon we don't have officially in-game, but the resemblance of the war fans does the job. I've always wondered... why are our fist weapons only visible in combat/while holding them? Anyone else or is it just me? I want these bad guys visible at her belt a l l t h e t i m e.

A year. Their past was like a minefield; to be navigated with caution, or to be avoided at all cost. They would not talk about it, nor reminisce. They had accepted it the way it was. This war. So pointless. Their hug felt infinite.

Fotinea held tightly onto her older sister; and, after they broke the embrace, she wrapped, playfully, Caminhanti’s dark curls around her fingers. The Shaman smiled and regarded her sister’s jaw line, straight black hair and clear shining eyes. So much like their mother’s.

Fotinea made a sign to go out. The sisters tried to squeeze through the crowds on the market. Footmen, suppliers, families. With all the commotion after the war ending, the place was absolutely packed. They finally reached a quieter part of Boralus and headed towards its outskirts.

Low-hanging clouds were surrounding the hill they decided to climb. Fotinea took a seat on a rock, while her sister sat next to her on the ground. Crimson reflections were illuminating on the horizon.

"So many worlds, countless places, out there”, Fotinea said raising her head and looked at the sky. “Thriving or crumbling into the darkness. We could protect them from any fel powers or help rebuilding them, and yet, here we are. So many distant places; and to see them all would be still saner than seeing the one here where people are at each other’s throats. For nothing.”

"Nagna."
"Family name?"
"I don't have one. I don't need one."
"Miss, I need to add this to our files. We are scanning everyone who is entering and leaving Silvermoon. It's just protocol."
"You have Voidstorm pouring directly into your city and you are worried about paperwork and names?"
"Your name, or I will have you escorted."
Nagna rolls her eyes. "Fine. Of Argus." She takes the temporary pass card from the guard. "That portal to Voidstorm opened in one of your main squares, fantastic idea, truly secure. We might as well blast ourselves to the Twisting Nether."

"This isn't working," Nagna mutters. Her face hovers over the Wretched. He is out of breath and starts to shiver again.

"Got a name?" She looks into his eyes and gets a blunt stare back.

She sets the vial aside.

"The poison is too strong, but so is his will. We need something stronger to extract it. Fetch me the one Yunarei has been working on. The Sanguithorn."

Rustax lets out an exasperated sigh. "They will all be scattered, just like us."

The cranium bobs towards the stairs. Their makeshift apothecary is one level down from the sanctum abandoned by a Domaanar sect.

"You can't unite what hungers to kill and control," Nagna whispers, studying the Wretched's expression. "There's a weakness in all of us, a will of our own. The solution is to control a soul, not to kill it. Mine is not even that. It's the knowledge I'm after. That's why we are saving you."

So I'm back after a break and I'm finally getting around to #yourfirsteverwarcraftcharacter challenge!

My main has been a Priest since WotLK and I basically only play this character, but my very first character was actually a Hunter.

I started playing during TBC on free server with irl friends. I choose a Hunter literally just because you could have a pet. I knew zero about wow and honestly my dps was so terrible, that when I moved to official server I switched to healing🙃

Let's see if I ever get back to Hunter again😊

Hard to find a good tmog for a Hunter, but I think I actually nailed it this time😊
If I ever play Hunter again, it'll just be for chilling, collecting tmog and visiting old zones.

What do you guys think about them removing the transmog restrictions?

Warcraft Movie Remake Challenge

My entry for the Movie/Show Challenge hosted by @auroraoceanseas 🌊 An awesome and creative challenge. It was fun to play with the frames and color palettes. Thank you for hosting!

I tried not to overthink it and went with the last movie I watched: The Outrun, directed by Nora Fingscheidt and based on a book by Amy Liptrot. I highly recommend giving it a watch!

There's still time to join the challenge. The deadline is September 16, and I encourage everyone to participate!

It felt as if a circuit was open and Caminhanti could not find the missing element to complete it. To make it run again.

She touched the doorframe and rested her head against it. The room was airy and chill, which she appreciated. The lock. Checked. She groaned when she moved towards the bed and then slid to the floor. Her gaze locked on the bookshelf filled with dusty tomes. She could barely decipher any letters of the titles. The faint shade of green on the wall behind the books was pleasing to her eyes. She refocused.

I appreciate everyone's presence here. All the conversations, short and long, silly and serious; they do not go unnoticed. A special thank you to those few souls who always decide to stop by and linger around the campfire a bit longer and share their thoughts with me. I appreciate you all a lot.

I have a few projects coming up and some wrapping up. Perhaps a new community challenge in the fall or another creative initiative. I'm also finishing up the origin story of Caminhanti, The Wayfarer. Can't say I'm not busy. I will, though, go into a quieter mode until fall. It's much needed.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Stay hydrated, get up in the morning, do your thing. Always look forward. Walk your path.
