Why I can't make art? Laziness? Burnt out? Procrastination?

"Artists make art, why can't you?"

It has been quite the journey, I must say, ever since I started my art account in 2024. Troubles seem to turn my way, too many a time, more than I can count, but that doesn't mean I stop making and learning art.

I make art and still do, hoping more people like you to start giving artists the chance for growth. Even though the journey so far hasn't been going as planned, nevertheless, I shall speak my mind as I had always wanted.

It's time for a change. It's finally THE time.

Come what may, I will make this into reality. I do hope for your patience while they are in the making. Stay tuned and thank you for being with me and loving my works. You guys are wholesome and such kind hearted people.

Considering what had happened to me not too long ago (mentioned on my Threads posts and Instagram stories), losing my precious laptop's charger mysteriously, I have decided to share this little sneak peek. These lineworks are some of the drafts among many which I am willing to show everyone. They don't come with colours or inked and may not be much for some people but I tried. That's why it's call a draft. This is not meant to be a final version and only intended to be shown as proofs that work has been done into completing my upcoming comic, Witchtower. There will be no plans to release a synopsis of the story. Not until the work is complete.

The first original drafts I made was quite terrible, this is a redo. At the moment, there has been 9 pages altogether, and realising that I may make some more pages, I can't call this a short comic anymore. All and all, thank you for staying and supporting me. 🥹 You have my wholehearted gratitude.

I'm also here to celebrate Miku's birthday, yay yay, eventhough her birthday is on the 31st of August, and now it's simply too late of me to share this but that's okay. It's the thought that counts. That's what matters the most.

Here are some of my Miku artworks I created over the years since 2024. I have come to create many artstyles for the eye since then and among my most celebrated artworks, they have always been about Miku.

Miku is my most listened to Vocaloid as she was the first Vocaloid I was first introduced to by my older brother. The things that had made me taking an interest to Miku was not entirely on her voice, or her style of appearance, or that she was unique but the music videos that came with her. These incredibly written songs as well as beautifully drawn and synced music videos are what kept me invested toward her as a singer and that has been thanks to all the incredible composers and animators who still keep on creating works made by human hands.

2026.06.03. Oof, I do realise that I barely create a male OC for a long time now, ever since 2024(?). Haha, but hey, progress. 😁👌

From now on, you'll know me as this character. This is me. I'm Xinxiu. This character is based of myself with a touch of exaggeration, and a couple of my art style. I mean, please, people who know me IRL would know that my jawline ain't that pretty. Pwease. 🙄

There won't be a timelapse for this particular lineart because I have no space left to do a proper recording. This artwork took me 4hrs 6mins to complete. by @xinxi_ae

The work started simply because of the my previous Griseo which I am not quite happy with its quality. As I was reminded of my latest, most largest artworks I did in February of Vi³ from Ex Astris, I referred to this amazing fanart of Kaf which I had also used for this new work where it is also intended to capture as many details as possible. by @xinxi_ae

Here's yet another Half-body artwork. 🫵
While making this art, I kept thinking about how her hair turned out into a disaster. What happened to her was disastrous. Her power is also a disastrous phenomenon, she apparently can drop a meteor onto you. 😂🔫 So, upon my dislikes with the current draft stage, it had taken me longer than expected for a mere lineart. I hope this suits everyone's pallette, cuz I barely do much with the colours😶🫶❤️ by @xinxi_ae

2026.05.18. Half-body. Practise. Elysia.

I know I'm suppose to do another artwork on heads but don't you get bored by them? I know I do.

The lineart of this character was created at the same day for my previously 2 artworks, the 12th, however, the decision to delay this work for a few days was indeed the right choice. The original lineart draft has so many mistakes it stopped me from ruining it any further.

I haven't reach the story that includes her yet but after seeing her combat tutorial on YouTube, she's such an eye-catching character. She apparently, seems to have an effect on people, she atrracts them. Even though, I haven't get to know her yet but she's definitely my second favourite character aside from Fu Hua. by @xinxi_ae

2026.05.14. Head. Practise. Bronya. Post-apocalypse.

I forgot that the lineart of this artwork was also the reason my energy was drained yesterday. I thought it would optimize productivity by reproducing the lineart for 2 arts at the same time, but nooooo, it confuses the brain because it is not my usual routine when I make my artworks. Sigh.

The focus of this practise is trying to make her look the same from any angle. I still don't get it. by @xinxi_ae
