This public health girlie has been busyyyyy (but in the best way✨)

Lately my days have been filled with pulling data for air quality projects, writing reports on recent climate events, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop projects that connect environmental exposures and public health. This is exactly why I love what I do 🤍

Then I clock out and step into my favorite role—being a first-time mom! I’m still getting used to pumping at work (and remembering all my pump parts 😂).

And somewhere in between, I’m filming, editing, answering emails, and creating content for you all because I genuinely love this community.

I’m still learning how to balance being a public health professional, first-time mom, and content creator, but I’m giving myself grace and taking it one day at a time. If you’re in a season of juggling multiple roles too, just know you’re not alone 🫶🏽✨

Pump and pour with me in the office as a first-time mom! 🍼✨

Honestly, breastfeeding is by far one of the hardest things that I’ve ever done. It was such a learning curve for me that’s been filled with overwhelming emotions since day one.

Recently, we started supplementing with formula because I couldn’t keep up + I was under a lot of stress with keeping my milk supply going. The mom guilt was real! But I’ve learned that a fed baby is a happy baby, and a happy, mentally healthy mom is just as important. Combo feeding has truly saved my sanity 🫶🏽

Anywho, I’m taking things one day at a time, giving myself lots of grace, and reminding myself that however this journey looks, I’m proud of how far we’ve already come✨

Let’s do a day trip to Galveston, Texas, celebrating Juneteenth!✨

My little family and I had the best time enjoying brunch at Leeland House, sipping brown sugar shaken espressos, and, of course, visiting the Juneteenth Legacy Headquarters at the Nia Cultural Center.

As the birthplace of Juneteenth, Galveston felt like the perfect place to reflect, learn, and celebrate this important day. It was such a meaningful way to spend the holiday, and we can’t wait to visit again.

As a first-time mom, I’m learning that self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Today looked like coffee, journaling, a pedicure, and tacos. Simple moments that helped me slow down and recharge.
