#nowspinning Oceansize - Home & Minor
#oceansize is the band that has everything I love about music, and until this day I still don't get how they never became bigger than they were. All the elements are there, perfectly blend in a beautiful yet haunting way. #prog, #postrock, #wallofsound, #catchyhooks, #melody #heavyness. I was fortunate enough to see them twice live and follow @mikevennart since then. Now my collection is finally completed, got all LP & EP they've put out. With a big wish that they would reform one last time.
Unfortunately couldn't find a song from #homeandminor, but this is the closer to the sound of that ep. Anyways, here are my favorite songs from each: #relapse, #breedsiamese #oneoutofnone #gettingwherewatercannot #rememberwhereyouare #thecharmoffensive #trailoffire #silenttransparent

#nowspinning @themarsvolta
When the tremulant ep came out was like a new door opened up, exposing me to a whole universe of possibilities music wise.
I was already a big At The Drive In fan back in the day, so when I found out that their most emblematic members were making a new band I got super excited, but it caught me off guard and took me into a journey that I didn't know was exactly what I needed. The guys pushed the boundaries beyond any other band I knew back then and influenced and shaped my music taste for the next 20+ years since it came out. Til this days De-loused In The Comatorium hast to be one of my top 5 albums of all times.
- Favorite track Eriatarka.

#nowspinning @deftones - White Pony.
This is another one of the top 5 albums that shaped my music taste. With #deftones the story is a bit different. I discovered them back in 95/96 and been following through their whole music journey. So when #whitepony came out we all were in awe. This didn't sound like anything they done in the past, but still their spirit was there, just in a more haunting, deeper, obscure and mature way. I love this album so much that I got it #tattooed on my forearm. Hard to pick a favorite track, but I'll go with #rxqueen that also features #scottweiland although he wasn't credited. What's your favorite song?

#nowspinning N is for @bandofnothing - A Short History Of Decay
To close the week, in this gloomy rainy Sunday. Here’s one of my favourite releases from this year. Nothing’s been carrying the flag from this new school bandwagon of #shoegaze for over a decade, mixing the old with the new, and having a particular style that always sounds fresh. I got to see them twice this year, one performing this entire album at @roadburnfest. And it was a beautiful experience, the addition of the third guitar makes the wall of sound hit you pretty hard, which is lovely.

#nowspinning R is for @rezzzn - Cycles In The Infinite Dream

Another one for the #aoty2026🔥contender. This record is like a beautiful dream you don’t wanna be waking up from. The psychedelic doomy stoner rock mixed with that beautiful saxophone takes your mind and body away from this place.

#nowspinning R is for @rhododendronpdx - Ascent Effort.
Excellent new discovery from this year, these kids rips! Blending post-metal with mathcore, this record is furious, complex and heavy. Another great act from the already amazing rooster of @theflenser

#nowspinning CP is for @chatpileband - Who Loves The Sun
#chatpile did it again! One of my favourites records that came out this year, this album is heavier, dirtier, noisier and sludgier than the previous one. And right now they’re on the top of their game, getting the notorious recognition they have earned.

#nowspinning O is for #oceansize - Frames
Happy 19th Anniversary to the best album there is. This record encapsulates everything I love about music. The melodies, the harmonies, the build-up , the wall of sound, the space in between to breathe, the slow burn, the layers, oh so many layers. All these years later and nothing comes as close as how much this album shaped my music taste and still feels fresh. @mikevennart

#nowspinning O is for #oceansize - Effloresce
Happy 23rd Anniversary to this masterpiece that changed the way I digest music. This album still sounds fresh and unique to this day, and influenced so many bands that we all love. Thanks @mikevennart, Steve, Mark, Gambler & Jon.

#nowspinning N is for @nirvana_official__ - In Utero

Although from the #grunge 4 they were my least favourite, this album shined the most because of the excellent Steve Albin production work. Also, lyrically it’s Cobain at his best.
“She eyes me like a pisces when I am weak”
“I miss the comfort in being sad”

#nowspinning AIC is for @aliceinchains - Unplugged

Finally got my hands on the missing piece of my #aliceinchains collection. In my opinion the best unplugged there is, there’s so much power and sorrow in Layne’s last public performance. You can feel the haunting energy in his voice, and the band made such a great arrangement of the songs as if they were meant to be acoustic. I still remember this performance when it aired on MTV and how much of an impact it left on me. Alice In Chains, as you can already tell, is my favourite band from the early 90s.
