When X-LAB initially contacted me I legitimately thought for moment their email was spam. I asked myself: “Why would a corporation with such a huge global presence be interested in me reviewing their latest AD8? How did they even find me?” But here we are. Another milestone. In several ways partnering with XDS/X-Lab for this bike series represents everything we’ve built up to this point. Playing my small role over the years to introduce cutting edge, value focused, premium Chinese brands to Western customers. Of course that includes here in Sweet Home Chicago. XDS has been in the game for over 30 years engineering and manufacturing mainly as an OEM for some of the most popular bikes you’ve seen at the World Tour level. Their factories have the capacity to produce upwards of 10 MILLION bikes per year. Incredible. And for the past four years they’ve decided to take their decades of experience and create their own in-house bike brand X-LAB.
