Seeing an advanced 3D floorplan in action is usually what hooks people into spending hours customizing Home Assistant dashboards, transforming a grid of basic buttons into a digital twin of an actual house. Building one typically involves rendering a layout in software like Sweet Home 3D, exporting transparent image layers or vector SVGs for individual states—like lights glowing, doors opening, or TVs turning on—and layering them using custom cards like picture-elements or Home Assistant Floorplan. While it looks incredible on a wall-mounted tablet, newcomers should know it is a bit of a rabbit hole requiring patience with coordinate mapping and YAML configuration. Don't let that discourage you, though; starting small with a single room or just a 2D layout helps build the skills needed to pull off those jaw-dropping multi-level 3D showcases. #Technology #smarthome #peterparker #Tonystark taken in Hollywood - Los Angeles by @xllr8ing

Here's an example of using Torque Pro with Home Assistant and generate data through local LLM to give you that Iron Man and Spider-Man feel.
By linking the Torque OBD-II app to Home Assistant, your smart home becomes your co-pilot—allowing your voice assistant to broadcast live telemetry straight from your engine. Imagine walking up to your house, giving a command, and having your home's speakers instantly reply

Showcase of the recent story I've shared today of the exterior with camera pip ups when there is movement. In this example I have a picture element card from Home Assistant with Motion overlays. The equipment used is a @reolinkcams with Frigate and occupancy motion, on a tablet running View Assist. This tablet then uses pop ups from Browser MoDs. The speakers in other rooms announce the motion and also monitors how long the front door is open with announcement over smart speakers, watch, and TVs. Pardon the language it makes these comments for humor on weekends and adds more emotions when the TTS uses "!" & "?" In the script call. Amazing tech that I've used for years. #Technology #home #house #house tour #spiderman

Espresense or Bermuda Triangulation + Zigbee button = A Zigbee multipurpose knob acts as the ultimate tactile steering wheel for your smart home, bridging the gap between physical intuition and digital control. Instead of pulling out a phone or shouting across the room at a voice assistant, a single turn lets you smoothly dim the living room lights, adjust ambient music volume, or nudge the thermostat to the perfect temperature. Paired with Home Assistant, its capabilities multiply exponentially: a single tap can toggle scene presets, a double-tap can trigger an all-off bedtime routine, and a long press can summon custom popups on your wall displays or run complex automation scripts. Compact and wireless, it delivers instantaneous, satisfying physical feedback that makes managing your home environment feel less like operating software and more like tuning a fine instrument.

This is showcasing possibilities if you want to a pop-up on your TV that shows you a screenshot of what set off the motion sensor. This is done with Notifications for Android TVs, with the wall panels throughout the home having a pop-up that shows real-time footage. You can combine it with Quickbars and have both a single screen pop up or both the pop-up up areal-timeime video footage by having the script tied to voice commands. The possibilities are truly your imagination with Home Assistant. I'm thinking maybe for a future project I have pop-up with video and also the floorplpop-up up showing where the movement occurred? Stay tuned. taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @xllr8ing

Did you get answer right? The esp32s3 uses a markup you upload to the device that uses wifi signal between it and your router to communicate when you're moving. Your device and router are sending data back and forth, the movement you start moving you disrupt that signal and it uses that to determine if you're moving--even through a wall. Transforming your living space with an interactive 3D floor plan on a dedicated wall display takes smart home automation from functional to futuristic. Instead of digging through endless menus or scrolling past endless lists of sensors, your entire home is modeled as a sleek, dynamic digital twin right at your fingertips. With a single tap on the glass, room lighting glows in real-time, doors register as open or closed, and micro-climate readings instantly illuminate every corner of your layout. It bridges the gap between hardware tinkering and effortless usability, wrapping complex Home Assistant states, overlays, and automation triggers into an intuitive visual command center that feels equal parts sci-fi interface and art piece. #home #Technology taken in Rome, Italy by @xllr8ing

Did you know your Google Nest Hub can do this? In this video, I used voice control to call up the floorplan and display it on my Google Nest Hub in my kitchen. You can still use all your other to7ch displays, but this shows an example of what you have at home that you're not using. You can still pull security cameras to view live footage, control the lights, and cars. What you want to do with it is up to your imagination using Home Assistant + Google. Additionally, if you want this device to announce what's going on,and it also makes a great TTS device.
