I personally felt episode 5 of Season 2 of X-Men 97 was really well done, but there were certainly some complicated subtext pieces that - at least I believe - may have been missed by some, but that's only because I've recently watched the OG series again... and many times more since. 😂 Also, having read a lot of Wolverine stories over the years help too lol. I could be wrong, but this episode certainly wasn't trying to focus on showing that Wolverine didn't care about Morph. More so, the complex and deep love he has for Jean is beyond anything, and then we shift to seeing Morph coming to realize Logan does not see him *that* differently, deeply hurt him. Beyond that, Wolverine also keeping people in the dark on the real mission may have been an intentionally maneuver to highlight how reckless he can be, and how he isn't always an ideal "team player". Cyclops is the team glue. Wolverine never really has been. Granted he's had moments!However, Wolverine is still inherently protective of people he cares about, and has also has a history of being a soldier. The mentality of "no man left behind" is commonly seen in his actions, and furthered by his care for his friends. But those friends, are distinctly different in their connection to him, than Jean is. Which is why some people may have felt his disregard for Morph's feelings seemed off on Ep. 5. I even found it somewhat jarring, but I think thats intentional.The viewer is supposed to remember that Wolverine isn't played the model hero (Look the the company he keeps! 😂) He has his moments, and sometimes he grows, but he is inherently a flawed being. #xmen #wolverine #marvel #comics #disneyplus by @xmen_90s
