Dinner

Last night, I treated myself to a beautifully curated dinner that was hosted in the North Valley, where I went to High School. It was nice to be back in the hood…….

It was a very unique experience. My meal was exceptional, and I really enjoyed the spicy Gazpacho and the Beet & Corn Salad! My table company wasn’t as enjoyable, since the woman to my right seemed determined on making sure I was the “Invisible Guest”.

It was as if it would physically hurt her if she even glanced to her left to look at me, or include me in the conversation. She seemed very intentional about it, keeping her focus and gaze to the ladies in front of her and occasionally, her partner to her right. I could not discern if she was transphobic, very insecure/anxious, or just incredibly rude…??? I did my best to utilize The Four Agreements and not let it ruin the mood and intentional food I was enjoying, after all, I had postponed my shot for this!🤭

As any Fierce Tranny does, I read her for filth (in my head) as if I was reenacting a scene from Pose as Mother Elektra and moved along.

Have you ever been the “Invisible Guest”? Is this a phenomenon that really happens? I don’t get out much and so I’m earnestly wanting to learn more. Has this ever happened to you?? Two weeks ago, I started Tirzepatide. No one prepared me for this, and that’s okay. It’s almost as if I’m being forced to deal with and pay attention to my body. I haven’t really eaten in weeks, and the occasional 🤮 is rough, and then I always feel better afterwards. As a result I’ve lost like 9 lbs. Yesterday was the first time my blood sugars really dropped. On another note, I got to attend the NASW conference at the extension of the chapter. I have a lot of thoughts about the conference. And, it was really cool to see that one of my most prized treatment methods has its own book now! Now I have a whole book for my clients to read! ❤️💙 With the Curanderismo Classes last week, and now this, it has been quite the rollercoaster in getting back out and socializing again! I also finally acknowledged how much the pandemic really affected that. The biggest lesson is: We need each other not matter what. A very beautiful thing happened this past week. I was fortunate enough to meet the daughter of one of my most precious and beloved Maestras, Dona Felipa Sanchez Gomez’s, Ms. Irene!! She reminds me so much of her mother! I miss Felipa so much! I was so fortunate enough to create the healing space that she worked out of when she would come and work @thebruppedrugstore She taught me how to bless all corners of the store every morning with seven sticks of incense.
