꩜ Earth based ancestral wisdom & tools for the new earth we are creating
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
What a journey it’s been. I’ve had to take a pause from my retreat company for the past two years.

One thing I’m proud of: when I see or experience a challenge, I find a way to create and birth a solution that makes this world a little better.

Years ago, when I moved back to live in the Sacred Valley of Peru, the land of my ancestors, I searched for a retreat center that was indigenous owned. Most were owned by US and European folks. Some employed indigenous teachers, but I knew that real power and representation meant owning the retreat center itself.

So I started one. Indigenous owned, indigenous teachers, a staff of 16, and indigenous teachings honored every step of the way.

Now I’m taking this time to heal from cancer, and I’m hopeful that something beautiful will come from this chapter too.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our retreats. Thank you for following and being a part of my journey.

with love,

Xóchitl 🪶🤎

My heart is so full! Our Sacred Mushroom Oracle Deck with Hay House is here!!! 💜🍄‍🟫🍄

After 30+ years of plant medicine work and five generations of healing with my lineage, this deck, the Sacred Mushroom Oracle is finally in my hands. Finally real and available to share with the whole world.

This deck is beautifully illustrated by Carlos Cabán’s visionary art. The spirit of the sacred mushroom, teonanacatl, love from the universe, the Earth, Pachamama, and our well ancestors, and decades of this work, it’s all alive in these 44 cards.

I’m sharing this with you because you’ve been part of this journey. And I’m asking: if this calls to you, would you preorder directly from us?
When you do, you receive the deck + guidebook + 2 of my handcrafted copal incense sticks (sacred companions for your readings).
And more importantly, every preorder goes directly to supporting me and my healing. I am currently on a journey through breast cancer, and your love means everything right now.

Hay House believes in this medicine. We poured out much love into each card symbolism and art. And now it’s in the world because of so much love and trust.
We are infinitely grateful. Thank you to the Earth, Pachamama, Tonantzin, Taita Inti Tonatiuh, the great Sun, Well Ancestors, guides, teonanactl, and everyone in Hay House who made this possible. And to all of you beautiful souls who will connect with this deck I am so grateful and blessed for our connection.

Head to our website to preorder yours.
Ships week of March 2nd.

With so much love,
Xochitl Kusikuy Ashe🕯️🪶💜

Today I’m sharing some reposts I love that honor our people and the land.

It is always our people. It is always the land. It is always Pachamama.

We all belong to her. We are all part of the earth.

Share with your loved ones so we can be vision keepers of the new earth we are building together. This is how the prayer travels. 🌱

A little note before you swipe.

Everyone whose page allows tagging is credited. Tap the little circle in the lower left corner of any slide and it will take you to the source.

If a slide has no tag, either that creator doesn’t allow tagging, or it’s something I made myself.

I’ve been creating, designing, and gathering these quotes and videos, editing them, and setting some of them to music. I started the hashtag #loveletterstoanewearth so you can click it anytime and find your way back through the whole series.

Please let these sink in slowly. Let them land in your body. My prayer is that they soften something in you, wake something up, and remind you of the world we’re here to build together.

When the world feels so heavy, it’s good to know that there are many of us collectively creating a new world. You are one of us.

If something resonates, share it. Send it to someone you love. This is how the prayer travels.

Your attention is currency. Spend it on the future you want. 🔥

Your music, your shows, your feed, your news. All of it shapes what you believe is possible.

There is an agenda to convince you that a dystopian future is the only possibility. That future benefits very few people, and it needs your imagination on its side.

When we feel helpless, we feel defeated, and it stops us from moving forward. That’s why hope and joy right now are revolutionary. They activate us to create what we really want.

We cannot build what we have never let ourselves imagine.

Fill your feed with the new earth movements from part 2, and let it show you a new possibility for our future.

The future is something we tend together.

Comment any uplifting content I should watch. I’ll read every one.

Part 5 of 6. Save this, share it, and send it to a loved one who needs this reminder.

We chose our Creative Residency recipient!

After reading so many thoughtful applications, we kept coming back to one vision.

Meet Xóchitl Kusikuy Ashe, a fifth-generation Quechua Aymara medicine woman, teacher, ceremonialist, author, entrepreneur and founder of Magical Medicine Journeys.

Xóchitl is coming to Avocado Bliss for a four-night fully-funded residency to begin bringing a powerful new idea to life.

At the heart of her vision is a simple question:
What would happen if we knew our neighbors?

Her work explores food sovereignty, practical disaster preparedness, growing food in urban spaces, sharing skills, connecting with local farms and creating the kind of community where people actually know who they can call when they need help.

She describes it beautifully:
Fewer people alone. More people who know how to feed and find each other and make this place a little better.

During her residency, she’ll begin prototyping a monthly gathering in Los Angeles that brings people together around practical skills, connection, land, food and ceremony.

The hope is to create a model that can eventually travel far beyond one neighborhood.

This is exactly the kind of ripple effect we hoped this residency could support.

A seed planted here.

A gathering there.

A new connection.

A new skill.

A little more belonging.

Xóchitl, congratulations and welcome to Avocado Bliss.

We are so excited to share these four nights with you and to see what takes root.

Anxiety lives in the head. The way out is through your hands.

Growing food. Saving seed. Water catchment. First aid. Herbal medicine. Cooking for a crowd. Fixing what’s broken. Learning how to be sustainable.

Every skill you learn is a piece of fear that leaves your body and doesn’t come back, because now you know what you would do.

Feels like a lot? Start with one. One plant to take care of on a windowsill. One free class at the library. One video tonight. You don’t need a farm or a lot of money to begin.

Bring your vision keeper from part 3 along. Skills grow faster when you learn them together.

What skill are you starting with? Drop it below. I’m collecting the list. 🔥

You cannot hold a vision alone. I’ve tried.

We are the sum of the five people we spend the most time with. So look at your five. Are they vision keepers? Or has everyone around you already decided how the story ends?

Find the people who are building something, people who talk about what’s possible. The people who are not afraid to talk about how to prepare, how to build, how to stay strong and positive through all this.

Don’t have five right now? That’s okay. Most people don’t. Start with one. Just one other person to be a vision keeper with. Two people can keep a fire going. Start slow and let your circle grow.

Tag your one person, or your 5, the ones who helps you keep the fire lit. 🔥

Everyone is waiting for proof that it’s going to be okay. I stopped waiting. 🔥

I learned this when I had cancer. Facing anything hard is a mind game. Your mind has to be stronger than the doubt, stronger than how the situation looks.

So I decided how this ends. A world where people and the earth thrive together.

My indigenous ancestors lived through the end of their world, every generation of them, and they kept planting the seeds. In ceremony, someone always keeps the fire burning through the night. Vision keepers do the same. We keep the fires tended for future generations.

You don’t have to believe it every day. You just have to keep the fire lit.

Are you a vision keeper? Drop a 🔥 so I can see who’s tending the fire with me.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, or devastated by the state of the world...
If you feel the urgency of this moment...

Remember this.

“The times are urgent, let us slow down.”
~ Dr. Bayo Akomolafe

These words found me today as I received news about my father’s health.

And I felt them land deep.

When everything in us wants to rush, to fix, to panic, the medicine is to pause. To breathe. To root down. To let the Earth hold us.

This is how we meet the storm. Slowly. Together. With our hearts wide open.

I love you. Thank you for being with me on this cancer healing journey.

Prayers for my dad are so deeply appreciated. 🙏🏽

With love,
Xochitl

Someone asked me how to prepare for what’s coming while still holding a vision of the future. 🐪

It’s a question so many of us are carrying right now.

When I felt this same fear, one of my beloved elders reminded me of a 1,400-year-old teaching from the Middle East:

Tie your camel, and trust God.

Take responsibility for yourself, your family, and your community. Fill your pantry. Store water. Know your neighbors.

And keep your heart rooted in faith. Keep praying for the new earth that is possible. Keep planting it. Keep living it.

Our ancestors walked through every great shift this way. With their hands working and their hearts open.

Your hands tie the camel.
Your heart holds the vision.

So tell me, How are you tying your camel and trusting God right now? 👇🏽

Send this to a friend who needs this reminder today. 🤍
