How you doin’ Popz? I’m speaking to you clearly as I wrap this s**t up. You’re the only person I wanted to talk to as I traverse this space mentally. I’ve been doing a deep dive on grief for the past 6months. I know it ain’t over. You told me to talk through my feelings. Here we go.

I’m doing what you told me. I lean on the family you and mom gave me. I don’t know where I’d be without em. Everything we talked about is still happening. I might be going a slower pace than anticipated, but that’s alright. I’m accepting my mortality.

“Jeremy, this world is a tough place to live in. Do me a favor for yourself and your family. Talk to your siblings. All of them. Don’t leave them. I need y’all to keep in touch. Do that for Popz. Make sure you do what you can to help. Even if it’s just conversation. Love on them forever.”

I’ve heard some hurtful things from women I decided to Trust in my life. That Trust was misused. But I gotta keep moving.

“You’re just not enough for me Jeremy. I need a full grown man to be with. You’re immature and I don’t see a future with you. You were fun…you know? A season really.”

“Your homeboy was really who I was after. You should’ve known I wasn’t feelin’ you. Look at me, then look at you. We don’t look good together. You’ll be fine.”

“I believe in the process. Not necessarily you. And I’m not trying to be rude about it. I’m just trying to help you see what I see. I just don’t wanna be right, so I won’t invest too much into it. I don’t want to have to tell you something you’ve worked really hard on isn’t good.”

Went back to your resting place alone after your birthday Popz. The silence was loud. But it was necessary. Helped me out more than you know.
.
“I miss you….Every day. It hasn’t gotten easier. Just…….lighter. I don’t cry every time. I’m not sure I’ve found a way to completely cope with it. But I’m doing my best to work through it.

I’m channeling it through my art like you taught me. It isn’t easy, but you also taught me that some things simply won’t be easy. You told me that it isn’t truly important to me unless I’m willing to lay my life on the line for it. My art is that for me. I’ll die for it. I mean it.

I’m going back to therapy to unpack a few more things linked to our time together. I’ve been battling some pretty powerful daemons.

When I think about you, I wonder all the time how we’ll meet again. I wanna hug you so badly. I miss your smell. Elegant mix of weed and the finest colognes. I’m gonna do everything in my power to make you proud.

I’d give anything, and I mean anything….to hear you tell me that you’re proud of me. I have to go. I left tears on your grave. May it water the grass on top. I love you Popz. My G, forever and always.”
