I have been straightening my hair since the 6th grade. Everyone around me had straight hair and for a long time, it’s what I saw as “beautiful”, until I had daughters with beautiful curly hair.

When they see my curls and hear them say “I love your hair mommy” it makes me want to be better for them and embrace my natural hair.

So I started researching and trying out different products until I finally landed on a routine that has made me truly, genuinely, love my natural curly hair. Its been about a month since I last blew out my hair & although I can’t promise I wont be doing it again, its a great feeling to know that I can wear my hair naturally AND love it! 🤍

PRODUCTS USED:

@redken All soft mega curls shampoo & conditioner
@unite_hair 7 seconds detangler + leave in
@designmehair Curl balm (the absolute bessssst)
@mizani 25 miracle leave in conditioner
& the goat @bouncecurl Define brush

As a third time mom, I stand by the fact that routines make a difference & newborns CAN be “sleep trained”. I like to follow an Eat, Play, Sleep type of routine with my kids and it really helps them settle into a natural routine that allows for them to be fully fed in the day time so that at night they can eventually (when its age appropriate obvi) sleep through the night/

Disclaimer: I am not an expert. I just wanted to share what has worked for me. Also, getting babies to build healthy sleep habits is not linear, especially at this age. We have good and bad days but consistency is key & by the time she’s 3/4 months she most likely will be putting herself to sleep with little to no help + sleeping through the night 90% of the time.

Let me know if this was helpful and/or if you have any questions. I can definitely make more content around this topic if its helpful 🫶🏽

Some QT with babygirl while big sisters are in school 🫶🏽 got to clean up a little & eat something quickly but remembered rlly fast how little time you actually have to do anything when you have a newborn who needs to eat every 2hrs 😅🤪

A little scary, but we got through it smoothly 😮‍💨👏🏽 Routines save my life and I will always stand ten toes down when it comes to toddlers & routines.

& just like that, my second baby is off to school 🥺 Because Alana was born the day before Laylas actual first day & she had to miss it, I wanted to make her feel special just like her big sis did for her first day.

So many big changes within days but my girls have been adjusting so well thankfully 👏🏽🩷
