In April 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court severely narrowed Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), allowing states to redraw districts in ways that could eliminate multiple minority-majority seats. Simultaneously, Congress is considering the SAVE Act, which would require documentary proof of citizenship for federal voter registration, creating potential hurdles for millions of voters.Key 2026 Voting Rights Developments Supreme Court Rulings: A 6-3 decision in late April 2026 in Louisiana v. Callais limited Section 2 of the VRA. This ruling affects how racial gerrymandering claims are handled, likely weakening protections for Black minority-majority districts across the South and risking a significant drop in minority representation in Congress. SAVE Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility): Passed by the House in early 2026, this bill mandates voters provide proof of citizenship (e.g., passport, birth certificate) for federal registration. Opponents argue this restricts voting access for millions without easy access to such documents, while proponents aim to prevent noncitizen voting.

The time has come for me to bid farewell to #Baltimore 🀞 So many memories, and words can't express my gratitude to the City πŸ™ Moving here in 1991 from Paterson, New Jersey, a project kid, heading down a path of destruction; moving here truly saved my life !! Saved me from the perils of the streets. Like all things in life, a change, is definitely on my horizon. With that being said, im officially announcing my retirement from Music as an Active Recording Artist. 25 Years in the Game, I've definitely had some ups and downs, as an Independent Artist and Record Label. I can truly say I accomplished everything I set out initially when I chose to be a Musician. Ive worked with so many Artists and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart, I really valued those experiences along the way. The friendships I made and maintained over the years, I really appreciated it. Im not stepping away from the Music Business/Industry all together, Im still very much involved with my Advocacy work with the Recording Academy #WashingtonDC #Chapter. I will continue to Advocate for Artist Rights as we strive for Fair & Equal opportunities within the Industry. Im just moving more into Managing my Music Catalog and Touring Opportunities. With that being said, in the coming months I will be making some announcements down the road as I continue on with my journey.

I want to thankyou for your continued support 🀞 I appreciate everyone who's taken the time out to Stream, Download, and Purchase my musical compositions over the years. I hope to see you soon, at the shows, and in life. See me in the streets, holla at your Mans 🀞 I found my purpose, my voice; what I want to dedicate my time to. For my fellow Artists, Im always available to chat and offer whatever advice ask of me, you can always send me a DM, email/text message, and we can chop one down.

American Music Fairness Act: Supporting Artists’ Rights on Radio

The Recording Academy has long championed the establishment of a terrestrial radio (AM/FM) performance right for sound recordings, and worked alongside key Congressional champions, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), to reintroduce the American Music Fairness Act (AMFA). With strong support from the Recording Academy, and partners in the musicFIRST coalition, the American Music Fairness Act was reintroduced in January 2025.

What Is the American Music Fairness Act?

The American Music Fairness Act is a bipartisan bill that establishes a performance right for sound recordings broadcasted by terrestrial (AM/FM) radio. The bill ends a decades-long loophole that has enabled AM/FM radio broadcasters to use the music of hard-working performers and producers without compensating them for their work.

The American Music Fairness Act establishes a domestic performance right for sound recordings played on AM/FM radio stations. Under the bill, artists, performers, producers, and other music makers involved in the creation of a sound recording would be entitled to fair market rate for their music played on radio stations across the U.S., just like they currently receive on other music platforms like streaming services, satellite radio, and internet radio. AMFA also contains important protections for small and non-profit broadcasters to ensure that local and community supported radio stations can continue to be diverse and thrive.
