Heute mal was in eigener Sache.🙃 ich bin Johnny, ein Kind der 90er und seit 2018 Lackierermeister. XS Design betreibe ich schon seit einigen Jahren als Nebengewerbe. Anfangs habe ich noch Autos aufgebaut/lackiert (bevorzugt Japaner 👌🇯🇵) aber die eigene Leidenschaft zum Radsport und die Chance mal ein Bike für den DH WC 2020 zu lackieren führte dann ziemlich schnell dazu das ich mich ein wenig auf Fahrräder "spezialisiert" habe. Demnächst folgt jetzt noch der Umzug in eine neue Werkstatt, aber dazu später mehr.

Starkes Wochenende in Baden-Württemberg! Meine Cobra CX50 FWE hat wieder richtig abgeliefert und ich konnte beide Läufe vom Start bis ins Ziel für mich entscheiden. 💪🏼🏁

It all started with an idea.
Together with Max from Raderei Bautzen, the first sparks for this frame came to life at last year’s Bespoked.

Soon after, bike ahead composites and Maxis joined the project and we couldn’t be happier to have contributed our wheels to this one-of-a-kind build.

A truly unique frame, built around one idea: put it on big wheels.

The result?
An unmistakable beauty that pushes the boundaries of what a gravel bike can be.

🩶 Kiri's Merida Mission 6000 🩶
( silk grey + special Paintshop @xs.design_ / 8,12kg )

wenn die Originalfarbe, der Kiri, einfach zu schlicht ist, muss nochmal der Lackierer ran. 😅
In diesem Fall wurde das seidenmatte Grau mit einer hauchzarten Klarlack-Schicht, die je nach indirekten Lichteinfall grün oder orange schimmert, lackiert. 🧡💚 Das Ergebnis sieht fantastisch aus, aber lässt sich leider nur schwer auf Bildern einfangen. Das Video veranschaulicht es aber ein wenig. 🤩

Mit diesem Projekt konnte ich mal wieder was neues ausprobieren: "transparenter Chamäleon Lack". Dieser ändert je nach Einfallswinkel und Lichtverhältnisse seinen Farbton. Grundfarbton ist hier ein violett und der Effekt kippt ins blau/türkis und rosa.
Sehr cool und in undlichen Variationen möglich. 👌

Ein voller Erfolg auf ganzer Linie!

Unser Projekt rund um das Thema „32 Laufräder“ in Verbindung mit unserem eignen Rahmen - sorgte auf der @cyclingworldeurope für strahlende Augen und jede Menge Gesprächsstoff.
Die Bestätigung durch das Publikum zeigt deutlich: Wir bewegen uns am Puls der Zeit.
Auch wenn bei weitem noch nicht jeder von der Innovation überzeugt ist.

Doch nach der Show ist vor dem Härtetest.
Unser partnerschaftlich entwickeltes „Size Matters“ muss nun beweisen, was in ihm steckt.

In der kommenden Erprobungsphase werden wir sicherstellen, dass die Konstruktion nicht nur optisch überzeugt, sondern auch technisch hält, was sie verspricht.
