This post has been long overdue. To my Ama, wherever you are, do know I will always be your apo. I will always be here to take care of angkong when you’re gone, and I will always love you to life after death. Thank you for always having that spirit of kindness, courtesy, and compassion for others and to your family. You have given so much to me and my family and I will forever be grateful for your love. When I was in grade school, you always had food for me everytime you pick me up from school. I will always remember those times where you would give me so much food for the house kahit hindi namin gusto kainin. Kinakain ko parin para sayo. Minsan sinasabi ko pa nga masarap, so I’ll get to see you smile. Then you’ll give me more food. Then, Gg sino kakain nito HAHA. You used to make balat my favorite fruit, suha. Tinatangalan mo pa yung mga seeds. Daming effort grabe. I will always remember when you would make me a secret agent. I would go to the bank to transact your charitable donation that I would have to hide it from dad and angkong. That was our little secret. Sobrang kulit mo Ama, but your love language to us was always food and care growing up. Ang taba ko nung bata dahil sayo. May white lies ka pa. “Kain ka ng madami para tumangkad ka”. But I don’t think I grew vertically, I surely grew horizontally. And now, it is sad to say. Wala na akong kalaban for the Lapu-Lapu head. From now on, every time I’ll go to a Chinese restaurant and we’ll get to order Lapu-Lapu. I will always remember and think you. Thank you for giving me the last bite. I will always love you. Thank you for everything my darling ama ❤️ May you rest in peace and may we meet again in the next life. You will forever be my ama and I will see you later! We’ll never get to say our last words but wherever you are, I hope you know that your memory will always live through me and your family. RIP Ama Liao, De Te.
